||Chapter 5||

"If you guys never would've brought him here, this never would've happened. What were you thinking?" Mal exclaimed.

"Yeah. What the heck, guys." I said standing up.

"Sit back down." Carlos muttered to me.
"Fine. But I'm only sitting because... my feet hurt."

"He was gonna come with or without us. We just wanted to protect him." Evie said while looking down.

"Yeah, and we completely blew it." Carlos said.

"Okay! Okay. So what are we gonna do?" Jay asked.

"We," Mal gestured to everyone, "are not doing anything. This is between me and Uma. And she's a punk and now I have to go get him."

"Mally, that's really brave of you and all, but you're still gonna have to go through her entire crew in order to get to Ben." I stood up while crossing my arms. "Knowing Uma, she probably has him in the very back being kept a strict eye on."

"Yeah, you're gonna need us." Jay agreed.

"Uma said to go alone." Mal reminded.

I laughed, thinking she was joking. But then I saw the serious and determined look on her face. "Oh, you're being serious. Oopsie..."

"Mal, come on-" Evie tried.

"She said to come alone. I know one thing, I'm not going anywhere." Carols said while sitting down.

"We'll be here when you get back." Jay told her and she left.

I sat back down next to Carlos and Evie went over to Jay. It reminded me of the time I first introduced her to the group.

This is what I missed most. Being together. Being the family that we didn't have.

"So, what's Auradon like?" I asked Carlos from underneath his arm.

"Amazing." He answered. I looked up and saw a huge smile on his face. I can't tell you how much I missed that smile. Probably because there's a number that doesn't exist to fit the amount, but anyway-

"They have chocolate everywhere. The food doesn't have any dirt in it and- oh, guess what?"
I chuckled at his child-like actions. "What?"
"I met a dog!"
"What?!" I took his arm off me and sat up. "Did he hurt you? Was he as vicious as your mom said? Why do they keep dogs there, they're practically tiny little monsters-"

He laughed and grabbed my hand. "No and no." He said, answering my first two questions. "And, surprisingly, he's my best friend. Which is kinda sad, because he's a dog."

I put my free hand on his forehead. "Are you feeling okay?"

He removed my hand and smiled. "Never better."

He continued to tell me all about his life in the other world I longed to be in. Apparently, he's on the tourney and fencing team, his dog (who's name is Dude) can talk now, and there's this thing called 'cotillion' coming up, which is basically Mal's engagement to be engaged to be engaged to Ben.

"Um, so I was wondering, after all this was over, you could come to Auradon and we could-"

Carlos got cut off by Mal raging up the stairs. She told us about how she lost to Uma, and now she has to give her Fairy Godmother's wand.

What is up with this wand and why does everyone want it?

"There's no way we're gonna give Uma the wand. We can't just let her destroy Auradon." Evie exclaimed.

"Well if we don't, Mal's hubby is a goner." I said while leaning back and putting my hands behind my back. Listen, if I'm gonna stress, I'm gonna look good doing it.

"So we're just going to give Uma, of all people the wand?" Evie asked.

"Well, do you see another option here, E?"

"Wait!" Mal stopped pacing. "You guys! Your 3D printer."

"A phony wand? In my sleep!" Carlos said.

"Hi, um, what's a- a, uh, wha- what's that?" I asked putting my chin in my hands.

"It's a printer that takes a picture and prints it, but in real life." Carlos explained

"Still don't get it."

"Alright, moving on. The second Uma tests it, she'll know it's fake." Evie said.

"So hustle. Go in, get King Bónjemon, and get out." I told them. "But we should probably get a diversion to keep in our back pockets to be safe."

"Smoke bombs?" Jay suggested and Mal pointed to him.

"That's perfect. I'll get the chemicals I need from Lady Tremaine's place." Evie walked over to Mal. "Oh, and sick hair by the way. Evil Stepmom really stepped up her game."

"Okay, do you wanna know something? Dizzy did this."
"Little Dizzy? Shut up!"
"I know! I'm loving it. It's like a lot lighter."
"Really proud of her."

Jay cleared his throat as I knocked on the table and Carlos said, "Helloo?"

"Yeah, guys, as much as I'd love to fangirl about my fav, Dizzy, we're kinda on a time limit here. Unless you want Ben to be fed to the sharks." I tapped my wrist, miming that I had a watch.

"Right."
"You guys go and meet us at Pirate's Bay at noon. And you guys, loosing? Not an option. Because we're rotten-"
"To the core."

"Wait, so who am I going with?" I asked Mal.
"Jay and Carlos." She winked. I stuck my tongue at her. I walked over to the boys. "Oh, so am I one of the guys now? Am I bro? Hey, brrrros! What's up, my broskis?"
"Just be quiet and get your jacket."
"Yessir."
