||Chapter 12||

"Wake up, sleepy heads! Wakey wakey, eggs and bakey!" I exclaimed while clapping my hands in the sleeping people's faces.

"Hailey, they're spelled." Carlos told me.
"I know."

"They're asleep. Everyone." Mal looked down at her phone. "I can't get Ben."

"Or Dizzy. Or Doug."
"Or Jane or the castle. The signal's out."

I turned around to Carlos. "Who's Jane?" I asked with a wide, but fake, smile on my face.

He looked up at me, terrified. "Oh, uh, my friend. Her name's J- Jane. She's, um, she's Fairy Godmother's daughter." He got more nervous the closer I got to him.

"Don't call her again."
"Okay!" He nodded frantically and shoved his phone into his pocket. I patted his face with my hand, but quickly got distracted by the chocolate that was on the table. "Ooh!"

"Hailey, you can't just-"
"Shush."
"Okay."

I took the chocolate off the table and ate all of it. What? I'm hungry. And also, Carlos never bought me food after he knocked me off the chair.

Yes, I still remember that.

I heard a burp from beneath. I looked down and saw-

"Dude! Oh my me! I missed you!" I picked him up and hugged him.

"What took you so long?" He asked.
"I don't know. Ask Mal and her boyfriend." I looked her in the eyes and picked up some apples that were on the table.

"Do you know what happened here?" Carlos asked Dude.

"Yep. Audrey showed up, she put everybody to sleep, and turned some of them into-"
"Guys! Hannah turned to stone." Evie pointed to a stone statue of a girl in a band uniform.

"Alright, everybody stay on their toes." Mal told us. "Yeah, no duh." She rolled her eyes at me as I continued to eat the food on the table.

"Since we're here, we might as well check the school." Uma said as me, Harry, Gil, and Celia began to follow her.

"No. Audrey went straight for the crown, so I think it's safe to assume that she's gonna go for Ben and the castle next. That's where we'll go." Mal said and Evie, Jay, and Carlos began to follow her.

"Says who?"
"Says me."
"Says you. And that's supposed to mean something to me?" Uma asked as Evie sighed. "Guys."

"To the castle."

I let Dude down and said, "Why do we have to walk all the way to the castle, when we could just check the school since we're right here, and check it off the list."

"Because I'm in charge, and I say we check the castle." Mal walked closer to me. I laughed. "Oh, you're in charge? That's hilarious." I wiped my eyes and pretended that I was crying from laughter. "Fine, Princess. Since everything has to go your way, we'll check the castle." I purposely bumped shoulders with her as I passed her.

"I'm doing what the scary blue lady tells me." I heard Dude say as he ran up to me. I picked him up and scratched his head. "You're my favorite."
"Before Carlos?"
"Okay, well, maybe not. But you're definitely number two."
"Sweet!"
