They met with the duke and finalized the backstory they were to use for this contract. Anastasia explained the loopholes he must be aware of, and the extent of the contract.
The duke had agreed to pretend that Ciel was his business partner, and Anastasia was his distant relative who married Ciel. Hiring a butler was not advisable since his staff were quite the gossipmongers.
The two were in London, investigating about the murderers who killed the duke's loved ones. They pretended that they were merely taking a casual stroll to shop around London.
"Your mark on the duke is on his chest." Anastasia hummed. "It will enable you to sense if any danger will befall upon him. So please keep alert, Ciel."
Ciel only nodded and they went to the Undertaker's shop.
"Earl Phantomhive!" Undertaker greeted the now young man, rather, demon. "And a beautiful lady. You must be his wife."
Ciel raised an eyebrow at the Undertaker who chuckled. "Your return with a mysterious and beautiful bride has shook London's society, Earl."
"We're here for information." Ciel said nodding.
"You know my price." Undertaker said smiling widely. Ciel sighed, even as a demon, he did not possess any sense of humor. He was still untrained in that aspect, not for Anastasia's lack of knowledge, but because he refused the lessons. He looked at Anastasia who raised her brow at the young demon.
"Fine, but I get to do what I wish later." Anastasia hummed making the earl grunt in acknowledgement. He went out and a minute later, the deafening laughter of the Death God was heard from outside.
"What a fine wife you have, Earl." Undertaker complimented wiping his tears from laughing too hard.
"Yes. Now, for the information we require." Ciel said with narrowed eyes. He was still impatient as ever. Undertaker grinned noticing how the Earl's personality didn't change even after years of disappearing from England, and becoming a demon. The Undertaker knew of Ciel's transformation, and was sure his wife was a demoness.
"The duke's loved ones." Undertaker hummed with a smile. "If one didn't look closely, no visible wound can be seen. But I noticed that the corpses didn't have blood, and distinct bite marks on their neck."
"Vampires." Anastasia supplied as the Undertaker nodded.
"I see. We will be going now." Ciel muttered leading Anastasia out of the shop.
"It seems our search will be more complicated as anticipated." Anastasia commented as they got on their carriage headed back to the manor.
"I know you have the ability to search for the perpetuator without effort." Ciel commented looking at the demoness who gave him a mischievous smile.
"Ah, yes. But, I'm not the one under contract, am I?" Anastasia said grinning making Ciel narrow his eyes at her. "Plus, you must learn how to grant your contractor's wishes on your own. I won't be accompanying you in the future."
Ciel frowned not liking the idea of Anastasia away from him. He had become dependent on her presence. She calmed him, especially since his new demonic urges still have the tendency to overcome his better judgement.
Anastasia smiled at the young demon and looked out the window. "Just think of it as an incentive. The earlier you finish your contracts, the faster you can claim their soul. And the earlier you can go back to my domain."
Ciel only studied her intently. "As long as no other will lay their hand on you while I am away."
Anastasia laughed at his possessiveness. "Of course. I adore your possessiveness."
