"Lady Elizabeth" She called when she saw the woman crying on a marble bench by the rose bushes.
"Please, leave me alone!" She said as she sobbed. Anastasia frowned not really understanding why the human woman was mad at her.
"I can't do that. As the hostess, I cannot allow a guest to be unhappy during my ball." Anastasia replied walking towards the bench.
"Are you not satisfied?! Do you wish to keep rubbing it in my face that you became Lady Phantomhive and not me!?" Elizabeth asked furiously wiping her face before glaring at Anastasia who looked at her calmly.
"I had no intentions to offend you." Anastasia offered honestly taking a seat on the opposite end of the bench.
"I was supposed to become Lady Phantomhive." Elizabeth stated weakly as her tears poured. "I was supposed to have what you have now. It's so unfair..."
"Life is never fair." The demoness said looking up the heavens before looking back at the crying woman.
"How would you know? You're living a fairytale." Elizabeth said bitterly as she looked at Anastasia.
"I was actually quite lonely before Ciel came along." Anastasia said looking back to the heavens. "Alive but not really living."
Elizabeth's eyes widened a fraction when she realized how much Anastasia resembled Ciel's demeanor from when he returned after the fire to his teens.
"I was a pretty prize, nothing more to my suitors." Anastasia recalled how demons courted her. But none of them caught her attention. "When Ciel came along, I instantly was intrigued about him. His cold attitude amused me, but soon he warmed up to me. I found something to look forward to again."
Elizabeth kept quiet listening to the woman.
"Ciel absolutely tested my patience, and I did the same to him. Somehow, our constant teasing became a way of our bonding."
"How did you both confessed your feelings?"
"Funny you'd asked that. My answer would be inappropriate for someone as innocent as you." Anastasia said laughing making Elizabeth blush.
"Y-You... Before you were married?" Elizabeth stuttered with a blush.
"Yes." Anastasia laughed. "Now tell me, Lady Elizabeth, why have you not consummated your marriage?"
"I-I... How could you tell?" Elizabeth asked genuinely curious.
"You're missing a connection a consummated couple has." Anastasia mused with a teasing smile. "You also get flustered easily. Ciel and I don't get flustered about sex since it is a part of our lives."
"I-I'm not ready." Elizabeth murmured quietly looking at her hands on her lap.
"You need to let go, Elizabeth." Anastasia said making Elizabeth snap her gaze to her. "Don't listen to those haughty women. You are much better than that."
Elizabeth kept quiet and listened.
"Fate has a funny way of bringing people together. Ciel would laugh if he hears me talking about fate since he doesn't believe it. But, I want to make you see that it was never your fault he left. Right now, you have a chance to be happy. Your husband is a good man, and right now he is looking for you. He loves you."
Elizabeth heard footsteps approaching them and looked to the source. Her husband was there, worry on his face.
