"I wish to duel, Lady Anastasia." Elizabeth announced. She knew that Ciel would protest since he knew of her skills with the sword. She was surprised when Ciel only offered a small smile as he handed his wife a foil.
"It will be my pleasure, Lady Elizabeth." Anastasia replied smiling and walking to the middle of the hall. Elizabeth followed her, they bowed at each other and took their stance.
Elizabeth didn't hold back. She would show Ciel that she was worthy of his love, and that he has given up someone as skilled as she. She didn't expect Anastasia to be able to keep up with her with ease. She gritted her teeth when Anastasia started offense. She was stronger than she looked.
Ciel watched his wife, who trained him in weaponry fight his cousin with ease and grace. He has always admired how she made everything seem effortless.
Elizabeth couldn't believe it when Anastasia was able to fling her sword away. Her eyes were wide as she watched her foil drop a few meters from her.
"An excellent duel, Mistress." Pierre complimented with a smile. "You were also outstanding, Lady Midford."
Elizabeth was still in shock when Ciel went to congratulate his wife.
"I didn't expect anything less from my wife." He complimented placing a kiss on Anastasia's forehead. "Well done, Ana." He gave a small smile to Anastasia that Elizabeth didn't miss.
"Such flattery, Earl Phantomhive." Anastasia said with a mischievous smile. "Why not show Elizabeth and I your skills?"
Ciel smirked taking his foil from Francine. Pierre stood across him bowing. They engaged in a fierce and graceful duel.
"He's amazing, isn't he?" Anastasia asked Elizabeth who was watching her ex-fiancé with awe. She couldn't believe how well Ciel fought with a sword now compared to when he was still a teen.
"He's become so skilled." Elizabeth answered nodding as she watched Ciel deflect Pierre's attack easily.
"We would train every day in the palace." Anastasia murmured making Elizabeth looked at her with interest.
"Palace?"
"My home." Anastasia answered with a smile. "Sebastian brought Ciel to my palace. We've been inseparable since."
"He must really love you." Elizabeth whispered as Ciel started his offense against the butler. "Ciel didn't really like spending time with others. He preferred solitude."
"Well, our circumstance really helped." Anastasia said with an amused laugh. Love was a foreign and unwelcome notion for a demoness like her, centuries of apathy made love seem like a weird notion. She knew that she was possessive of Ciel, like he was to her. That was the closest thing she could compare to what the humans called love.
