Anastasia was in a daze as her eyes shed tears. She remembered the heartbreak and betrayal. The pain she long buried in her several millennia of existence. She did not notice that Ciel had arrived to see her in a daze as her tears fell down her face.

"Ana" Ciel called out warily making her snap out of her daze.

She closed her eyes and wiped her tears before offering him a small smile. "Forgive me for not noticing your presence."

"What's the matter?" Ciel asked with concern as he frowned at her nonchalant attitude.

"It's nothing really." She said with a soft smile that didn't reach her eyes. "I'm just rather emotional right now."

"Ana, we don't get emotional for no reason like humans." Ciel told her with a frown.

Anastasia sighed knowing he was not letting the topic go. "I remembered why I was exiled, and how idiotic I was."

"We all make mistakes." Ciel said as he took the seat beside her. "As much as I hate to admit that." He added in a mumble.

Anastasia chuckled at his petulant attitude. "Well, mine led to my eternal loneliness."

"You don't have to be lonely anymore, Ana." Ciel said seriously making her look at him with intensity. "I am here."

"But, there will always be a possibility of us getting tired of each other's presence. Forever is a long time, Ciel." She reasoned closing her eyes. Ciel sighed and wrapped his arms around her.

"I will never tire of you." Ciel whispered sincerely. "I started my life as a demon with you, I will end my life as a demon with you."

Anastasia laid her head on his shoulder and hugged him tightly.

"Fate is really amusing and ironic." She whispered making Ciel snort.

"Fate is but a figment of imagination humans created to make their existence seem less futile that it really is." Ciel said caressing her hair.

"But an interesting notion on its own." Anastasia murmured contently, forgetting her pain and sorrow. She did not see the soft genuine smile on Ciel's lips. He was content that he was able to calm her down and forget her misery. Even if the world crumbled, he would still have Anastasia as his; and for him, that was more than enough.

"Will you tell me what happened?" Ciel asked as he pulled away from her embrace.

"In the future..." Anastasia mumbled. "It's rather pathetic so I hate speaking about it. My brother thinks I'm weak because I form unnecessary attachments."

"Unnecessary attachments?" Ciel asked with a small frown.

"Yes. For him, our relationship is unnecessary." Anastasia told him sighing.

Ciel frowned but kept quiet. He embraced Anastasia again and nuzzled his face on her neck.

"But, I don't think it's unnecessary." Anastasia whispered running her hands through his hair. She felt the small smile that formed on his lips. Ciel wanted her and no one else.

"Well then, shall we exterminate some vermin?" Ciel asked with a smirk as he pulled away and stood up. He offered her his hand which she gladly took.

"We shall." Anastasia said with her trademark smile.
