Chapter 9~Dinner and a...Sleepover?

Nagitos POV:

After a long school day I'm standing by Ms. Yukizome's classroom, waiting for Hajime. I can't believe we're having dinner together...~ I wonder what he'll make for us...? I smile at the thought. After a little while I see Hajime in my view, waving to him happily. He sees me and runs over, "Heya, ready to go~?" he asks, sounding excited.

I nodded my head with a smile, "Y-Yea I am...~" I say as we started to walk out of school. I've never been to someone else's house before...the only house I've ever been in is my own...it's honestly too big for just one person. I wonder what the inside of his looks like...? I bet it's nice an homey...~ Mine isn't homey at all, which is why I like staying in the hidden room. It may be small, but I feel more comfortable there then my own house...I look down a little.

"Hey...are you alright?" Hajime asks, sounding a bit concerned. I snap out of my thoughts and look back at him, "O-Oh um yea...I-I'm sorry...I-I just got lost i-in my thoughts..." I say with a small laugh. Hajime frowns a little, making me sigh some. I could tell that he was worried about me, but I don't wanna burden him with my personal problems...

I looked around, realizing that we we're already far from the school. Hajime smiles, noticing my curiosity, "My house is up ahead, Chiaki and Souda actually live on the same street as me~" he says, laughing some. So they're not only friends...they're neighbors too...no one lives close to my house, so I've never had any neighbors...

"T-That's good that y-you guys live close together...~" I say, smiling a little. "Yea...~ I've known those two for most of my life, they're practically family...~" Hajime says with a smile, looking down a bit. I look over at him, feeling a bit confused. Why does he look...sad...? Did something happen to his actual family...?

After a little while longer we walk up to this nice brick house. It definitely looks homey from the outside...I like it~ Hajime unlocks his door, holding it open so I could walk inside, "Come on in~" he says with a smile as he motions me to walk through the door. I nod and nervously walk inside his house, looking around some. It's definitely homey inside too...~ After Hajime walks inside and closes the door, I remove my shoes and put them neatly by my bag against the wall.

Hajime laughs a little, "Make yourself at home Nagito, don't feel nervous about being here okay...~" he says, smiling warmly. I blush a little. How can I not feel nervous! I'm eating dinner with a guy I met yesterday, who's also my new friend...I can't help but feel nervous. I don't want to say or do something wrong that would make him hate me, though...I don't think that he'll ever hate me...he's a good guy...~ Chiaki is lucky...

Hajime's POV:

I could tell that he looked uncomfortable...I wish I knew a way to help him relax. I thought to myself for a moment, remembering how much he lit up when Ms. Yukizome mentioned that one of the projects for the dance was decorating. I wonder if he likes art...? I walk up to Nagito, who was now sitting at the table, twiddling his thumbs, "Hey Nagito, do you like art~?" I ask him, smiling some.

Nagito looks at me, smiling a little, "Y-Yea I do~" he says, sounding cheerful. I walk over to one of my drawers, grabbing an old sketchbook of mine with some good pencils. "I have some paper and pencils if you'd like to draw while I cook~?" I say, putting them in front of him.

His eyes widen some and he smiles, looking like he's less tense, "O-Okay~!" Nagito says as I walk into the kitchen. I notice him picking up one of the pencils in the corner of my eye, making me smile happily. I had a feeling that would help him relax...~ Now I have to figure out what to do for dinner...I wonder what he would like...? Oh I know! I could make him my parmesan chicken pasta, Chiaki and Souda love when I make it for them...I bet Nagito will too~
