Chapter 12~The Bully Encounter

A/N~Just letting you guys know, the three bullies are my characters, they're not in the Danganronpa games or anything like that lol This chapter will focus on only one of them, but I will eventually talk about the other two lol

Hajime's POV:

We continued to chat as we walked to school, though we did stop at Souda's and Chiaki's house. For some reason, they were both not home, which was odd to me...I always at least walk with one of them to school. Oh well...I'm not gonna think about it...I'm just gonna continue enjoying Nagito's company~ Seeing his beautiful eyes light up...his smiling face...it brightens my mood...~ Before this moment, I would dread going to school. It's not like I hate school...I just wish that the other students would focus all of their attention on someone else...not me.

As we were walking up to the front gates, Nagito stops. I look back at him, "Hey...what's wrong...?" I asked him curiously, sounding concerned.

"T-T-They're here...!" Nagito says, sounding afraid. He's shaking...he looks so terrified...I face back towards the gate to see three familiar boys with leather jackets. It's them...Nagito's bully's...the three idiots that call me their leader...I ball up my fists. I want to walk up to them and punch all three in the face so bad, but I don't want Nagito to be even more afraid, though...if one of them even tries to lay their hand on him...I won't hesitate.

I go back to Nagito, leading him out of their sight. Thank god they didn't see him...Nagito looks at me with fear in his eyes. He looks like...he wants to cry... "Hey..." I hug him to try and calm him down, "It'll be okay...I won't let them hurt you...~" I say as I rub his back.

He was hesitant and kinda surprised at first, but he eventually hugged me back. He was crying into my shoulder...I've never seen a person this scared of bullies before...not even the students that I've saved from those three. Mikan is like this sometimes with Hiyoko, but never this bad...they occasionally get along despite how Hiyoko treats her...

Nagito was taking breaths to try and calm himself down, releasing me from the hug after a little while. When he does, he looks at me with a tear-stained face, "H-Hajime...I-I'm scared...w-what if...t-they-" he stops when I unconsciously put one of my hands on his face, wiping away a tear that was falling.

"I swear...I won't let them lay a finger on you Nagito...I'll even make sure they stay away from you...~" I say with a warm smile. I'll definitely tell the headmaster about them...I'll even walk Nagito to his classes if I have to. Unfortunately, I only have him for Ms. Yukizome's class, but luckily for me Chiaki has him in a couple of her other classes, so she can accompany him too. We'll both help him~ I'll even get Souda to pitch in and help too...~

Nagito was looking at me wide-eyed, a blush forming on his face. I was confused a bit, until I realized what I was doing. Blushing a little I slowly took my hand off his face, rubbing the back of my neck awkwardly, "S-Sorry...that was...probably weird of me to do..." I say with a slight laugh.

He shakes his head, "N-No! I-it's okay...~" he says, looking down a little with a bit of a smile. He seems...calmer now...I guess what I did kinda helped, though I feel awkward about doing something like that to him. It's something that a parent or...partner would do. I blush some at the thought. Why did I do that?!

Nagito looks back up at me, "I-I think I'm ready..." he says, sounding nervous. I snap out of my thoughts, focusing back on those three, "Alright...~ Just stick close to me okay...? You can hold onto my arm if you want to...~" I say with a calm smile.

Nagito, looking a little surprised, nods, "O-Okay...~" he says with a small smile.
