Chapter 15~An Unexpected Lunch

~Time skip~

Hajime's POV:

After that whole incident happened, the class talked a little while about the dance before the bell rang for lunch. Nagito decided to eat lunch in the cafeteria with us today, which to be honest makes me a bit nervous because of his bullies and Fuyuhiko...I ball up my fist. Fuyuhiko...what is his deal?! Why does he hate him so much...? I'm gonna find out...this truly doesn't make sense...

"Dude are you okay?" Souda asks concerned. I snap out of my thoughts to see him, Chiaki, and Nagito staring at me. I sigh and look at them, "I'm fine...just...frustrated is all..."

Souda sighs some, "Yea...Fuyuhiko needs to get over himself...he can't have everything go his way..." He says leaning his head on his hand, "I know he has a temper, but this is ridiculous!"

Chiaki nods in agreement, "Why would he be mad over something like this...?" She says looking at Nagito, "I just... don't get it..." She says, sounding a bit upset.

Nagito looks down some, "I-I guess...he will...a-always hate me. I-I don't know w-why he does...I-I've never...t-talked to him...or...d-did anything to him..." He said as tears rolled down his face, which made my heart ache.

I scooted closer to him and rubbed his back, making him look over and smile a little with a slight blush on his face. I smile back, "Feel better now...~?" I say with a slight laugh.

"Y-Yea...~" he giggles a bit, rubbing his eyes, "C-Copycat...~" I blush when he says that, remembering about...what he did in class...~ I laugh a bit, "I guess I am~"

Chiaki clears her throat, making Nagito and l look at her. "It seems like someone's here to talk to Nagito...~" Chiaki says with a slight smile. Someone's...here?

I looked behind me to see a familiar purple haired student nurse, "H-H-Hello Nagito~" she says with a slight smile. Nagito turns around and smiles a bit, "H-Hi Mikan...~" he says with a slight smile. Do these two...know each other?

Chiaki moves to where I am and whispers in my ear, "Whenever an injury is too bad for me to fix up by myself, I usually ask Mikan for assistance...since she's more of a pro." she says, moving back to her spot. Ah I see, so Mikan helps patch him up sometimes...well at least she's nice to him...

"H-How have your wounds been since last time...~?" She asks lifting up some of his hair in front to look at a past wound, sounding a bit concerned. Last time...When was this...? And...why is it bothering me that she's touching him so carelessly...?

"T-They're doing better...~" Nagito says with a smile. She puts down his hair with a sigh of relief, "T-Thats good~ a-and I see that you don't have a-any new wounds~" she says happily.

Nagito looks over at me and blushes a little, "Y-Yea...~ H-Hajime protected me f-from Kaizer...~" he says with a sweet smile. I rub the back of my neck with a slight laugh, "Yea I did...~" I say with a slight blush.

Mikan squeals a little, "T-That's so sweet of you H-Hajime~ Y-Your like his knight in s-shining armor~" she says with a slight giggle, making both me and Nagito look away from each other with noticeable blushes.

Souda snickers a little, making me glare at him, "Shut it." I say to him quietly. Mikan giggles, W-Well I better get back to m-my table...~ B-Bye~" she says with a smile as she heads back, stumbling a bit.

Well...that was weird and unexpected...and embarrassing...I look over at Nagito, who's now hiding his blushing face with the hood, making me giggle slightly. He's so adorable~

While I was distracted, Souda leans in and whispers in my ear, "You should totally ask him to the dance~" I look at him, my face going red, "W-What?!" I say nearly falling out of my chair. Chiaki and Nagito look at me confused.

Souda grins at me and looks at them, "We'll be right back~" he says grabbing my arm and dragging me off, leaving Chiaki and Nagito even more confused.

Souda drags me to the lunch line, letting me go once we get there. "What are you thinking?! I-I can't do that!" I say getting flustered. Souda laughs, "Yea you can~ If your brave enough to stand up to Kaizer, your brave enough to ask prince Nagito to the dance~ Mr. 'Knight in Shining Armor'~" he says snickering, making my face turn red. "S-Shut up!" I say looking away, still embarrassed about Mikan saying that.

I never thought about asking him to the dance...honestly I wasn't gonna go, but...maybe...I'd go if he was there...~ I smile to myself, making Souda grin. "Your totally thinking about it~" he says sounding excited, making me snap out of it. "N-No I'm not!" I say trying to defend myself, but failing miserably.

"Whatever you want to tell yourself~" Souda says with a laugh, "I'm just saying, this would be the perfect opportunity for you two~" he says with a slight smirk. He's not wrong, but I don't know if Nagito will even accept...I mean...he might...~ "I'll...think about it..." I say with a sigh.

"Great~! Speaking of asking someone out to the dance, I need to go find Miss Sonia~!" he says walking away happily, "See ya in a bit~!" he yells. I roll my eyes and decide to head back to our table.

Nagito's POV:

While Hajime and Souda were gone, I was chatting with Chiaki about Hajime and...what happened in class between us...~

"That was brave of you to do~ You weren't scared~?" She asked with a giggle. "W-Well I was nervous, b-but I knew I had to...I-I didn't want him to get mad l-like earlier with Kaizer..." I say, looking down a bit.

Chiaki sighs, "He just wanted to protect you...~" Chiaki giggles a little, "I think he cares about you a lot~" she says with a smile. I blush some. I can't deny that he does...I mean...he is a friend...~ Friends care about other friends...~ Though...I...wish I was seen as more then a friend... "Y-Yea...~ H-He's a great f-friend...~" I say with a slight giggle, making Chiaki face palm.

"Oh Nagito..." she says pinching the bridge of her nose. I look at her confused, "W-What's wrong...?" I ask kinda worried. Why does she look upset...? Was it something I said...? She was about to say something, until she sees Hajime walking back over.

"I'm back...~" Hajime says with a smile, sitting back next to me. I perk up once I see him, "W-Welcome back~" I say with a sweet smile. I noticed that Souda wasn't with him, which was a bit confusing. "W-Where did Souda go~?" I asked curiously.

"He's gonna try and ask Sonia to the dance..." Hajime said as he rolled his eyes. Aaah I see, I remember him saying something about liking this girl with long blonde hair and pale skin...she looks like she could be a princess and always seems polite to others, but I've never talked to her...I guess her name is Sonia...

Chiaki looks at Hajime, "He's trying again huh..." she says, sounding...a bit disappointed...I wonder why...? Chiaki decides to get up and excuse herself, leaving the table and pulling out a game system from her hoodie pocket.

I look over at Hajime, "W-Why does she look...u-upset...?" I ask him curiously, sounding concerned. Hajime laughs slightly, "It's because she likes Souda, but Souda has always had a crush on Sonia, which makes Chiaki feel that he would never like her..." he says, sounding a bit bummed. So that's who she was talking about in the room...Souda was the person she liked...

"I-I see...t-to be honest...I-I thought she liked y-you..." I say, looking down a bit. Hajime looks at me surprised, "Chiaki? No we're just childhood friends is all~" he says with a laugh.

We chat for a little while, until Souda walks back to our table, sitting by Hajime. He looks...kinda upset...I guess she said no. "H-Hey Souda...A-Are you okay...?" I ask curiously.

Souda looks up at me and smiles, "I'm alright...~" he says trying to sound happy. "Did you get rejected again~?" Hajime says with a slight laugh. Souda looks down some, "Actually, she asked me...and...I said no..."

Hajime and I looked at Souda surprised. He said...no? To his crush...? "No way...you were so excited earlier to ask her...what happened?" Hajime asked him, sounding confused. Yea...this was very unexpected after everything Hajime told me...what made Souda change his mind...?

A/N~Yep! Now you guys know who Chiaki likes XD I know this may sound like a strange shipping, but for some reason I couldn't stop thinking about it and I felt that it fit this story, so I went with it lol
