You laugh like him too. " I said as James shoved me onto his bed gently.

"You have been saying that all night baby. And if that's who you were drinking away I can laugh for you all night. " He said pulling off my pants.

He placed kisses along my thighs slowly. I could help but enjoy the sensation all while my mind felt guilty. Conrad and I, we were not in a relationship but it still felt wrong to be with a guy that wasn't him.

It was an inappropriate time to think of this stupid statement Sam once told me when she was having a crisis, I never got it at that time but now it made sense. She had turned to me with a serious face and said " No we don't date, technically he wasn't an ex-boyfriend but he was an ex something, an ex-ample, an ex-almost. "At that moment I felt like that was what Conrad would be if I went through with this. "

So even while in my still bubbly drunk haze in nothing but underwear. I managed to tell James to stop and when he asked me what's wrong I broke down. I don't know how long I apologised for but it was for a long time and eventually I might have started to doze off wether in his arms or next to him I couldn't remember.

"James, have you seen my new boots?" I heard a voice say before the head attached to it poked through the slightly open door.

"Dude have you ... wait?"He said looking at me suspiciously"Aren't you, my brother's boyfriend." I didn't even flinch getting called Conrad's boyfriend was starting to feel like a horrible childhood nickname that stuck. But the guy's familiar voice did look familiar.

"So I am your brother's rebound?" James laugh rumbled beside me.

"No!" I exclaimed

"Conrad's going to have a fit about this." The guys said if I was not mistaken his name was Max.

"Huh, small world who knew your little brother would be the reason I would get laid."He said laughing heartily.

"Get out..." Max shouted angrily staring at me "Now, Chester!"

"Relax nothing happened. " James said as I fell out of the bed in a hasty scramble for my clothes.

"Yeah right nothing happened," Max responds sarcastically.

"No, really nothing happened," I said pleading a little.

"Uhuh sure claim impotent now?"

"Please Max. Have you seen me." James rolled his eyes before continuing why still laying back on his bed, "if anything he kept on crying and changing his mind. It was annoying actually. "

"I wasn't crying. " I screamed falling as my leg got caught on my pant leg.

"Uhuh sure, you were just sweating from your eyes. Over your ex and existential crisis. " James laughed as he checked out my ass from the bed.

"Hey! James eyes up here. " Max said clearly mortified " I can't believe you have the same taste as my younger brother. "

"I am already having a rough night this is not ideal for me. " I mumbled from the floor giving up on any idea of getting up.

"Come on," Max grumbled as he dragged me by my leg slowly across the carpet out of James room.

"Hey, hey, hey, stop! I am going to get carpet burns. " I screamed at him.

"Do you care?"

"No," I replied honestly slumping back onto the carpet.

"Okay then," Max said as we reached his room.

It looked bigger than James' of course the whole apartment was larger than Conrad's my mind supplied, but who cares right. Max dragged me all the way to the centre of the carpet in his room before letting go of my leg. I welcomed the mild burning sensation from the carpet burn on my skin, hating the fact that my pain tolerance was higher so this doesn't really have the desired effect. Since pain was my go-to mechanism for anything.

"Now stay here and behave. I am going to call my brother. " He said quietly before leaving.

"Wait. . . why?" I shouted after him.

"because you and he need to talk. " He said looking at me as if I was a five-year-old " this childish roundabout got to stop. "

I let out a groan as I closed my eyes on the soft inviting carpet.

A little short because again had to split it. I don't know why they keep getting out of control.
