Halloween morning arrives as we all eagerly awake and go down to breakfast.

Afterwards, we all head through to the entrance hall, where Filch, the caretaker is standing inside the front doors, checking off names against a long list. Peering suspiciously into every face and making sure that no one is sneaking out who shouldn't be going.

I stand by the twins as we wait. Tracey had no choice but to stay behind as she has fallen ill with the flu.

"Our first and very important stop will be the Joke shop. We certainly need to stock up on some things," says Fred as I stand between them.

"Staying here, Potter?" shouts Draco, who is standing in line with Crabbe and Goyle. "Scared of passing the dementors?"

Not long after Filch begins down the winding path that leads to Hogsmeade.

The moment we step into town everyone splits off not waiting another moment to hear what Filch has to say. I head off with the twins to Zonko's Joke Shop.

Once there I mutter to the twins, "mind if I head off for a bit?" As Draco had sent a note on Styx the previous night stating to meet him by the Shrieking Shack.

"Don't want to spend some quality time with us? Let us show you around Hogsmeade?" Fred asks, placing his hand to his chest pretending to be hurt.

George on the other hand asks in a rather accusing tone, "where are you off to? Surely not to Malfoy?"

"No, of course not," I lie. "I just want to walk around for a bit, plus if I want to get you two anything for Christmas, I can't exactly do that while you with me."

Fred pats his brother on the back, as if sensing his jealousy. "Alright, after this we will be at the Three Broomsticks, see you there?"

"Yes, I'll meet up with you then," I say as I head off towards the Shrieking Shack.

I walk through the trees, down the narrow path as I near the Shrieking Shack.

There off to one side stands Draco.

I walk up to him and we hug briefly as I ask, "where is Crabbe and Goyle?"

"Left them at Honeydukes, they'll be stuck in there until we have to go back. I don't even think that they'll notice I'm gone to be honest," he smirks.

"Those two... I know everyone has the right to do stupid things, but I feel like they are just abusing that privilege."

We giggle as he places an arm around my shoulder pulling me closer. "C'mon. The path to take where we're going is just up ahead and barely visible," he says as we walk huddled together, shielding each other from the harsh cold wind.

"That's why not many people know about it. It's a small open area amongst the trees, near a river and you can still see the Shrieking Shack from it."

He walk on for about another fifteen minutes when we reach a small clearing. Just as Draco had said, there is a small lake passing by, flowing towards the Shrieking Shack which you can still see from an opening in the trees.

The pathway we had come from no longer visible. We can hear peoples laughter echoing through the trees, from the way we had come, as they walk to go tour the Shrieking Shack. But nobody can see us, the trees shielding us away.

A fallen tree stump lies near the river, providing the perfect seating area. We sit down on the cold grass with our backs against the tree stump; It provides the perfect shelter from the wind.
