I didn't expect my sister to be following me around so soon, she made it sound like it will only be once everyone is back. But, not even two days after Christmas she comes looking for me. Waiting outside the common room for me and making me spend hours on end with her at the library. I don't even get much chance to sneak off to the Thestral paddock or the Astronomy Tower.

I obviously made the mistake, one day, of asking her what happened that she isn't spending her time with Ron and Harry instead; First she shouts at me for making it sound like I don't want her around and then she carries on saying that I should be happy to want to spend so much time with my sister. After the shouting ends, she then goes on to tell me that Harry is upset with her for reporting to Professor McGonagall about his Firebolt broom he received as a Christmas gift, which had no name tag on so she suspected it could be from Sirius Black. Therefore, they took away his Firebolt for inspection.

This made Ron furious too, on top of the fact that Scabbers, his pet rat, is apparently looking very ill because of Crookshanks wanting to constantly eat him. By the time she is finished telling me the awfully boring story, it is already the end of the afternoon. As a lot of times my sister never misses out any details when she has to tell you a story. I almost even fell asleep at one point, to which she slams her book down on the desk causing me to almost fall off my chair from the sudden fright.

I certainly am glad when the rest of the school returns after New Year, giving me a slight breather from my sister. With the corridors being crowded once again, it has given me the opportunity to slip out of sight from Hermione, and I was finally able to spend some time down by the Thestrals one afternoon.

When walking back to the common room, I spot Draco strolling ahead of me; To my relief without Crabbe or Goyle. I sprint up behind him as we pass one of the classrooms. Opening the door, I yank on his arm, dragging him into the empty room. I push him roughly against the wall and close the door. Taking out Hagrid's note, that letter Harry gave me in the library that day, and hit him on the arm repeatedly with it.

"How... Dare... You... Allow... This!" I yell.

It takes Draco a few seconds to recover from the sudden onslaught. He grabs my wrist before I am able to hit him again, yanking the note from my hand.

I speak as he skims through it, "that's right. There will now be a trial for Buckbeak. And knowing your father, he will ensure that Buckbeak gets killed." He looks up at me. "Well say something!" I yell out again.

In an instant Draco grabs me around my waist and spins me around, turning the situation completely around; Now he has me backed against the wall. His one arm still around my waist and the other leaning against the wall, bringing his face in close to mine.

"I don't like being backed into a corner," he says with a sinister grin on his face. His breath caressing my skin. The usual smell of his rich cologne filling my nose along with a hint of peppermint. His grin slowly fading as his alluring and benevolent grey eyes stare into mine. Draco speaks again, quietly this time, almost in a whisper, "I tried, Nyx, I really did."

He lets out a soft sigh. "My Father was really not happy about my injury, and he has a lot of influence at the Ministry of Magic. The best I could do was to ensure that he doesn't get Hagrid fired, but he doesn't want Buckbeak near this school anymore."

"We have to do something, please Draco. He's going to get Buckbeak killed," I plead.

Tugging on my waist he pulls me into his arms and hugs me tightly. "I know, I'll do whatever I can to help you. I promise."

He lets go of me as he continues to look at me with those caring eyes. I punch him on the arm again. "Hey, what was that for?" he asks, rubbing his arm.
