this is after civil war and just after homecoming, like the vulture stuff happened a couple weeks before this.
also decided to add morgan in bc its my au and i can do whatever i want

"what's a soulmate?" peter turns around in the high chair, watching as morgan comes running towards him, arms out wide.
"wow a soulmate? it's someone who you love no matter what, and they love you too, they respect and understand you."
"do you have a soulmate?"
"yeah but i'm not sure who..."
"maybe it's a girl in your class?" morgan pulls at a curl sticking out of peters head, "or guy."
"soulmates don't have to mean anything romantic morg, it can be someone who is a really good friend, someone you know and admire i guess. it can literally be anyone."
"morgan, it's time for bed!" pepper walks into her kitchen, smiling at the two as morgan slides off peters lap to her mom. "tony wants a word pete." she smiles sweetly at the boy before retracting from the room.
peter lifts up his sleeve tracing his thumb over the numbers. he's curious he really is, but it was such a long time ago according to his arm, and knowing his parker luck, he's probably missed his chance of knowing his soulmate.

"hey pete!" he rolls his sleeve back down replying in return as tony sits next to him. "morgan's telling me all about soulmates now. thanks bud."
"sorry." peter scratches the back of his neck.
"nah you're alright kid, it's kinda cute, she's rambling on about how it's magical. you wanna know the actual magical part about it? morgans got her soulmate, it's pepper, for all the years i've known pepper, wandering what the date was, and it turns out to be the day morgan was born. now that is magical." peter smiles at the older man. "i'd be lying if i say i didn't care, but i am curious, but anyway. so i just wanted you to drop by, you doing alright underoos? the whole vulture incident was bad for ware, you came out with quite a few scrapes if those broken ribs are anything to go by."
"yeah i'm fine, survived didn't i." peter sticks out his tongue earning an eye roll from tony.
"barely survived my ass! you got hurt worse than me, you had a building collapse on you parker, like hell you're okay, look if you need any therapy or anything just let me know, also that internship still stands."
"thanks mr stark, i should probably be heading home, mays gonna be on one if i'm not back in time."
"yeah alright kid, be safe and i'll see you next week?" peter nods his head before leaving starks home.
tony lifted back his already rolled sleeve. he was confused, of course he was. his date was when the battle at his expo happened. he met a lot of people that night, some were probably now dead, some he will for sure never see again, but he couldn't not never see his soulmate again? he needed to find them, it was killing him. he's had that mark all his life and when the date finally rolled around? it was one of the most chaotic nights of his life despite what most believe of his past.

peter made sure to get to his internship early, but was surprised to find happy already waiting. "so um how does this work?" happy let out a grunt as they entered the elevator. peter turned his arm over looking down at the date again, happy looking over at the younger boy, clearly noticing the date being the same to his friend, smirked, "do you know?"
"hmm? oh no. i want to but i don't think i ever will, people don't really like me... my aunt was lucky, she met her first soulmate when she was younger, fell in love, sadly ben uh, he died. she has a new date now, she's really curious to who it is, the dates not happened yet, hers is the seventeenth of november this year." the elevator dinged and peter walked out alone, noticing happy wasn't coming with him. happy however pressed the button back to his office, rolling his sleeve up; 17.11.17.
"pete! glad to see you're here, so how'd ya say we work on your suit, maybe recolour? or we can add more webbing ideas,"
"sounds great, thanks!" peter sits on the stool next to his new mentor, as tony pulls up blueprints, to which they begin working.

a few hours pass by, and the two mostly take part in idle chat, peter occasionally thanking him for the opportunity and fixing little parts of the system in his suit. tony asked the younger boy to stay over in one of his guests rooms, since it was getting late and his aunts apartment was a couple hours away.
"can i ask you something?"
"sure thing underoos."
"what's your marking say?"
"my m-marking? this the whole soulmate thing?"
"yeah have you met yours?"
"according to the date i have but i don't know who it is."
tony rolls up his sleeve, revealing it to the younger boy. "i the date... it's the same as mine," peter shows his arm.

"yeah... oh my gosh this is awesome!"
"when did we meet though? i don't... oh my- pete? you didn't go the the stark expo dressed as me trying to kill a robot..."
"yeah, that was me." peters face turned red.
"i should have known, god, you're a dork. it's quite endearing actually."
"big ego much? but thanks for saving my life mr stark."
tony pulled the boy in for a hug.
