peter was not the best at keeping his identity a secret, so it amazed him how no one had figured it out yet. the first incident that happened was purely ned's fault (accidental of course).
peter had gone to the bathrooms and asked ned to take his bag to the meeting and he'd be there shortly after. and peter may or may not have slipped up about the suit being stuffed at the bottom of his rucksack.
when ned had arrived at the library, no one else was there. he looked around and noticed it was fairly quiet, no one was around their section of the library anyway. so he did what any other curious person would do, he excitedly opened peters bag, and saw the blue and red. but what was more exciting was the web shooter placed on top. without thinking, ned pulled it out, looking at the advanced hand-machine. and whilst he was turning it in his hand, he unknowingly pressed the button, starting to panic slightly when some white fine lines shot out.
"hey ned! whatcha got there?" betty walked towards the table along with abe and cindy.
"oh um nothing! just peters science project."
"i'm in science with peter and we didn't have any projects..." cindy questions.
"well that's because it's an extra project peter asked for, i mean you know peter, he loves science." the three just nodded their heads and sat down as ned put the web shooter back in peters bag, who himself came running along.
"it's great that you're doing extra science projects, but don't ware yourself out too much peter, you need your brain for finals." peter who didn't know what was going on just politely smiled and nodded his head.

the next time the decathlon team knew something was up with peter was during gym. the coach had decided the class was to do a series of training exercises, almost as a competition, to which the coach decided the winner would get extra credit. now this would benefit peter greatly (since the boy often missed lessons) and despite having super-strength - not that he actually cared if he slipped up - he really wanted to win, mostly to annoy flash.
so there the team went on, running five laps around the gym, lifting weights, shooting as many hoops as they could and climbing the rope.
peter was against flash, the other boy being smug. and so they began, starting with the laps, peter didn't even try to fail, he ran - way ahead of eugene. then they lifted weights, peter lifting the highest of the whole class (who were all watching in disbelief). then was the hoops. flash missed one shot out of the five, peter got them all. then was the rope - who could climb it the fastest. peter of course won that.
"wow, peter? you i guess this means you got yourself extra credit." peter walked back to his classmates, leaving a grumbling flash behind him.
"peter? how were you able to do that? you beat flash. you're peter!"
