Chapter Seven
Delayla Cruz
"Hey can you stay out for the afternoon?" I asked Juan the next morning as I was getting ready for school.
"Yeah, as if I wasn't already doing that" Juan answered sarcastically.
I rolled my eyes and gave him a cigarette to smoke, he accepted grimly. So far so good, now he moved on for smoking once every two days. When he wasn't doing it, whenever he seemed to have a craving he chewed on chewing gum. My parents and I didn't mind at all buying chewing gum for him. He got bored of the peppermint flavour and made us buy him different flavoured ones.
Juan wasn't as mad at me anymore after he accidently hit me on the forehead with a football. The bruise on my forehead almost disappeared, I guess he felt guilty for me. He even drove me to school in the morning, that was it to his kindness. He still was out til night in the afternoons, I wonder what he was doing. My parents worried a lot, but he didn't care when they scolded him.
That afternoon after school, Violet and I were in sport clothes ready to get help with our cheerleading routines from Lion. "Hurry up and get changed" Lion and Andy yelled outside of my room.
Violet giggled while she was changing, I had finished and looked away while she was changing. When she finished she said to me, "Lion is going to like what he sees in the clothes that you're wearing."
"Don't even" I grumbled.
Wearing black shorts and a sports bra, let's just say Violet made me wear it. I didn't enjoy it one bit, I was comfortable with my black tights and old t-shirt.
Violet opened the door to find Lion and Andy sprawled on the ground just fallen face first on the floor, "Finally" Lion made up his fall, standing up.
"Why do you girls take so long?" Andy complained getting up.
As soon as Lion glanced at me, he froze. His was wearing an expression of shock, his eyes widening. He said nothing and looked away blushing, I stood there nervously. Andy was shocked too, "Are you guys trying to seduce us?" Andy assumed, "Because if you are, it's working."
Violet giggled, "Nope just getting into the mood."
Violet and I passed the still shocked boys and went downstairs. We went into the living room and started to stretched getting ready for our routine. The boys followed us downstairs, Lion readied himself too, "Just to stop potential laughing you mind giving us an explanation on how you know cheerleading?" I asked Lion.
"I've been playing football for years" Lion drawled, "Do you not think that I wouldn't have picked a few cheerleading tricks?"
"Football and cheerleading do go together" Andy agreed.
Violet clapped enthusiastically, we looked at her weirdly, "Observing and getting a few cheerleading tricks is a very skillful thing" She explained.
Surprisingly, Lion was good at teaching us a cheerleading routine, an easy but effective one too. After he taught us, Violet and I tried to perform it. We would keep on doing it, Lion correcting our mistakes on the way.
Then the worst thing happened, Juan came home. "Woah what is the new kid doing here?" Andy asked as Juan appeared, walking casually in the living room.
Lion glared at him and Violet looked at him surprised, my friends turned to me wanting an explanation. Juan raised an eyebrow at me and smirked knowing that I will have to explain, I glared at him and mouthed 'I'm going to kill you.' He just smiled and snickered quietly.
"He lives with me, the end" I answered.
"Why?" Lion asked angrily.
"Uh didn't you hear the words; the end?" I asked rudely, "Just drop it"
