Chapter Fifteen
Delayla Cruz

I laid in bed alone, I couldn't fall asleep. I was worried, Juan hadn't come home yet, not since we had the argument. I forced myself to think of nothing and eventually fell asleep.
The next day, I woke up with an empty space beside my bed, I frowned, Juan didn't come back home for the night. I got up and started to get ready for school.

Since Juan wasn't at home I had to walk to school because I was still grounded and my parents didn't trust me to drive their precious audi, it was totally unfair because Juan was able to drive around in it. "Hey," Violet greeted me when I came up to my locker.
"Hey" I greeted opening my locker and getting my books ready.
"So did you do your revenge?" Violet asked.
I nodded, "Well it's definitely working." She said.
"What do you mean?" I asked Violet, confused.
"Juan's gotten crazy." She answered looking down the hall.
I looked in the direction that Violet was looking and found Juan making out with Sally heavily, out in public, "That's one hot makeout session" Violet commented, "It'll be nice if it wasn't out in public."

I agreed with her and closed my locker, "Are you going to do anything about this?" She asked.
"No" I answered.
Violet gave me an unsatisfied look, "Do I need to?" I asked.
"Well you're preventing him from taking his drugs and making him act like this, yes, you need to do something."
I groaned, "Fine."

I walked up to Juan and Sally, "Hey Juan." I greeted.
I was greeted back with a murderous glare from the both of them, they then continued to make out, "Could you do this somewhere where you aren't seen in public?" I asked.
"Why, is it bothering you?" Juan asked breaking the kiss apart.
"Uh, it's bothering the whole school" I notified.
I was right, around us people were getting highly uncomfortable by the PDA that Juan and Sally were showing, "I might consider that when you let me get a whiff of some cocaine." Juan said.
"No can do" I answered.
"Fine" Juan said as he went back kissing a smirking Sally.
I wanted to kick the hell out of both of them.

I walked away defeated, "Well that didn't work out" I muttered walking back to Violet.
"Yeah cause I can still see them make out" Violet answered, "This is entirely your fault."
"Oh it's my fault?" I asked getting a little angry.
"Yeah, well if you had just let Juan take his 'meds' he wouldn't have raging hormones that result in him making out with Sally" Violet pointed out.
"Or maybe he's just doing that to annoy me" I said.
"Yeah sure" Violet said sarcastically.
Then she stared at me with a bewildered expression, "Hey, maybe you're right, maybe he did it to annoy you."
"Thank you" I said relieved that Violet got me.
"Well it is still your fault" She continued.

The bell rang for homeroom, the day was pretty boring. English was first period, here we learnt about Shakespeare. The teacher made us write a recount on what happened in Romeo and Juliet, why would a teacher make us do such a useless task, taking up our precious learning time. Most of our 11 years of primary and high school, 70% of it's about reviewing what you've learnt the previous years, 30% of it is actually learning something new.

At lunch; everyone in the school was slowly going nuts, apparently Juan and Sally's PDA was making everyone become high with hormones, making lunch a very flirty and dirty session. "They're still making out?" Andy asked unamused.
I looked over to the Popular Table where Juan and Sally were still making out, Juan's bought chicken burger untouched, "Do they lip lock in class to?" Violet asked.
"Is he still living with you?" Lion asked.
"Yeah, that's why he still attends school" I answered.
"I swear everyone is becoming crazy because of their PDA" Andy said.
"It's because it's turning on." Lion grumbled.
He stood up, "Let's go to the fields and away from this crappy nonsense."
The group agreed and we stood up, grabbed our lunch and moved away from the food court and into the the fields.

When I arrived at my house after school, Mum and Dad were already home in the kitchen eating an afternoon snack. I came into the kitchen, looking at them cautiously, mum and dad rarely ever get home early, "What's going on?" I asked.

Mum set down the biscuit that she was eating and looked at me, "Dad and I have noticed that Juan hasn't come home since you walked out the door yesterday, what did you do?"
"I didn't do anything wrong" I said, "We just got into an argument, Juan got angry and stormed out of the door."
Mum and Dad gave me a look of disbelief, "If your that worried about him, let me remind you, that he did attend school today." I notified.
"We know" Mum said, "We got a call from the principal that he was caught in public, lip-locking with another girl."
"Apparently it was causing a little bit of a riot at school from the public display of affection," Dad answered.

"Yeah" I answered sarcastically, "I had the utter most pleasure of actually seeing it in real life."
They gave me a look, "You're telling me this because ...?" I asked wanting them to continue.
"We think that you have something to do with it" Mum told me.
"This morning when I was taking out the trash I saw a packet of cigarettes in the bin" Dad started to say, "And the packet was full."

Busted, they knew exactly what I had done. I opened my mouth to say something but Mum didn't let me, "Delayla whatever you're doing, I'm just reminding you that with every action, there is a consequence. Whatever you're doing it has to stop, why are you making Juan suffer?"
I glared at them angrily, "No" I shouted, "You don't understand, I can't believe you're always taking Juan's side. You're grounding and blaming me for throwing a party that I didn't throw, Juan deserves to suffer consequences for not coming clean."

Mum and Dad looked taken aback from my outburst, I stood up and went into my room, slamming the door shut. I cried in bed my face in the pillow feeling like the worst person ever, I can't believe that my parents had sided with Juan. Juan didn't come home last night, he didn't for the rest of the week.
