A brown cord skirt and a white long sleeved top was being smothered by my fake white nails. A shine made my nails seem brighter and more lively as the dim sky carried into my room. It didn't matter for long as I pulled on the sandals and walked out. My keys in hand finally after a month of six miles a day just to get to work.

The engine started happily and chugged until work was met and I locked it. My laptop could be brought back to my house and I could work into the night as well as my legs not aching so badly after a rough day of work. Sure enough as the doors opened again the office was busy but not busier than it was normally.

"Alright Barbie?" I smiled and waved back at poor Matthew. His job clearly getting to him as he worked and poured himself into his work to do what was the best it could be. Matthew was definitely a man any human would be lucky to be with. His body slightly bulkier than some but he was still handsome. He could dress well and he spoke well.

"Matthew, how about I help you out? I can come help at lunch so you can have a break and do normal things that normal people do." He shook his head and clearly he was refusing my help.
"Then I will work alongside you. I am trained to do your job but no love nor money would let me do it for long." He seemed to hesitate for a second and at his moment of weakness I took it and winked before turning around.

My desk held paper on it but not more than was my usual but what was strange was the man stood at the side of it. He was normally one to keep his head on the down low and his voice barely ever picked up or I had never heard him speak. He was talking to Ambrose and when I walked up he left. I felt a little bad because clearly I had done something to deserve that treatment.

"Wow, I really do chase men away." Ambrose smiled widely at me and then turned his chair back to face his desk. The word document was up and he was busy typing away to fill in the boxes laid out for his use. When I sat down again my chair shifted to face my work when Mr Link spoke up.

"Hey Enyo do you fancy catching up tonight? I mean I am led to believe that you and Ambrose have not met since last time and you also agreed on once or so a week." I swiveled my chair and saw that the once typing Ambrose was clicking away but had an ear out for what we were saying. Mr Link was stood at the entrance of the hall leading to his office.

"I can't do tonight I am afraid because I am busy but another day soon? I know that Ambrose has some business to attend to after work tomorrow and you are normally busy after the day here is done. Don't feel that you have to attend every time. Ambrose is honestly very knowledgeable, oddly." I smirked and as he looked up from the screen to me I winked at him.

"I am quite busy to be honest and tonight is the only night I can do. You two can obviously still meet just be careful. Or could you raincheck whatever your plans for tonight are?" I rubbed my lips together and shook my head.

"I have a date and tonight is the only night he can do. Sorry but he works for the police and normally does nights so can't really alter that." I gave a smile and then turned back around to my work as the sound of another email hit my ears and I prepared to answer it. I assumed that Mr Link had left as I worked my time away.

By the time it was appropriate to leave I had work to do at home and my laptop was picked up from the floor. It was finally a option to bring my things back home. Once the laptop was packed away into my car I started it and then got home. Ambrose had left long before me as I had held back to finish up some work that was needed quickly. As I drove past his house the place looked empty but I knew that he was just not able to handle the sun for long enough in the day leading to the night.

As soon as my door was closed I was on the phone and talking to Lucy.
