A soft tapping brought me from my reverie of work and Christmas. I sighed out slightly and stood up and tied my hair back into a messy bun. My pen was put back into the pencil case beside me and the laptop was placed to my left as well as the pillow it was on before. All I had with me was a pair of socks on and my pyjamas with stitch on and my phone in hand.
I walked up and through the eyehole but something met me that made my body tremble massively. With a deep breath I used my finger to unlock my phone and then I found Mr Belmont's contact details.
He's here.
Help me!!!
Who?
This isn't funny.
The man who attacked me is at my door.
No response came and I didn't even know if he had read it but I assumed he had as it was quickly sent off to him. The silence scared me and when the door was knocked again I felt a tear slip down my cheek and I wiped it away.
"Delivery." The man was persistent but as he spoke I jumped and ran to the sofa. My heart beat and the set jawline of the man came to mind as well as blue eyes that could penetrate paper and leave a small hole in his wake.
"I haven't ordered anything." With that the door was opened and a slick grin was given to me. I gulped and realised that more tears were falling as I was forced to actually remember the moment where he hurt me last time.
"How do you remember kitten?" With that he tried to step into my house but he couldn't and a look of pure curiosity passed through his face. He knew that I had done something.
"Why can't I come in? Let me in." He was trying to tell me to do it but I shook my head and felt the flood of tears that were dropping. He might not be able to hurt me there but he could if I ever did leave and I would have to leave eventually."Mr Link put the wards back up. You can't come in unless I let you or he lets you and neither of us will do that. I believe that Mr Link can't even do that for this house anymore." I was trying to look brave even if my tears were giving me away and also the shake that was so bad that when I tried to shove my glasses up my face that I poked the glass in them.
"How lovely of him. You close with this Mr Link?" I nodded my head and backed up even further so that if he ran at me I would have more time to notice his moves. If he somehow got in.
"Y-yes. Apollo and I work together and have done for about three years now. Do you know him?" Eyes fell and worry was in his eyes for a split second and I was glad. Clearly Mr Link was someone to him and it kept me hopefully a little safer.
"Yes brother, and Mr Link works with me." My eyes darted to the dark street and white snow that hit the floor. It was freezing out and he had been blowing the cold air in and as he was dead he couldn't feel it on him. Nor could Ambrose.
"Nephthys, I will have words with my brother and you will be left alone." I nodded and walked through to the door but held back a little distance to prevent any surprises. The man at the door was clearly in a state of shock as Ambrose ran at him and then with a whoosh he was gone.
"Thank you." I breathed out and when I received a text telling me that it was all right I knew that he had heard me. It felt like I was such a slow person as I had barely been able to close the door when he had done all of this.
When the tears had stopped and my breathing was less worrying I moved from the sofa and got a drink from the kitchen and returned to the sofa for more work. My hands were shaking though and so with every letter I typed it went wrong and with every mouse click it moved and so I saved and closed it all down. Shoving paper into the laptop before finally letting the lid fall and then I stood up. With the sudden reminder of what had happened I began to shake all over again. The door was all that had reminded me as well.
When the door swung open of its own accord all of the nerves in my body stood on end until I saw that it was Mr Link. He seemed concerned but the hug that followed filled me with intrigue and my whole body relaxed as he engulfed me in the strong hug for a long time.
"I don't care what you say because I know that I love you and you love me. I also know that when I got angry at you it was because I was angry that you had to lose out on so much just to be with me and for what you said I am grateful. Please, just let me be here for you now. Ambrose text me after you text him and I drove here as soon as I could because you can't get hurt. Not again and trust me, he has about three years of time to spend in his room now." I was smiling as he spoke and I felt like nothing would ever stop me.
"I know that you can't have children without your whole family agreeing and you have to be married but that can't happen if I am not like you but, I would like to spend some more of my life with you. It makes me happy when we are together." I smiled up at him and the tired smile on his face comforted me a little.
"I also want you to know that you look better than any mermaid, as you call them, would. I love you for your unwavering attitude." I smirked and then my hands moved to his chest where I pushed him onto the sofa and crawled over him. My body was looming as he looked up at me and I could see that he was wanting me. Despite Miss Glove.
"You seem to be happy right now. Care to tell me the reason?" He looked over my body and then let his fingers run across my bare stomach and then onto my back as he tugged me down to his lap. He was laying on the sofa and I was straddling him.
"I like being in control, you know that." As soon as he said that his hands moved to my hips and he began to rub his fingers over my bare skin below.
My body began to rock and he was taking in the look of my body as I did so. His hands touching all of the spots that he knew I liked and soon we took the rough wind out of the other. From there we were on the sofa and I was little spoon. A blanket kept us warm as we were no longer doing it for ourselves.
"I should apologise to Lucy, it has been long enough and I miss her." The hand that was over the blanket fell below it and his fingers began to play with my piercing before his hand fell to the side and he was quick to pick up my phone.
Ringing filled my ears and then he pressed my phone up to my ear. I knew that he had forced me into doing it but I also knew that without him I would have procrastinated.
"Hello?"
"Hey, I just wanted to say sorry. I haven't spoken to you in so long and I miss you. I mean, you don't have to accept my apology but I accept yours and I also want you to know that you owe me about a years worth of catch up."
"Girl you had me with your first word. I love you and I can talk to you tomorrow or something because my night in the water is going to start soon and I know that you and Apollo are together. I can hear sex in your voice."
The pair of us were talking again and I laughed down the phone as she spoke to me. It was like we had never stopped talking only, she filled me in on some life events that I never would have known if it wasn't for Ambrose reading my mind and almost having me killed. Fond memories indeed.
