Your tunnel ends in darkness, Y/n. Embrace it.

Y/n felt bad, really bad, about this situation. The worst he's felt since Akihiko tried to kill him the first time. It was the only time the other boy had truly tried to kill him. Yes, Y/n felt that bad. He was very much on edge — Akihiko's sudden appearance (and disappearance) on the roof did not leave Y/n with any good feelings.
Y/n wasn't even completely sure why. He chalked it up to some sixth sense he had about Akihiko and how close the boy was to a mental collapse. Something happened, something happened to him, something happened on that date. Something that's tearing him up. Something that for some reason erased anything between him and Miho. Something that had Miho looking like that. Something that had Chiyo acting like that. Something that had me so on edge about Akihiko.
Something, Y/n just knew, something is wrong.
Lovesick people like Akihiko don't just give up on their love interests like that. What would... cause such a thing?
Y/n had no fucking clue — and it wasn't like he could walk up to Akihiko in public at school and ask him.
The other had promptly disappeared anyway and Y/n wasn't going to look too hard for him. Y/n was sure it would be alright for now. He simply had to get through today. Then, then he could really confront Akihiko when they walked home.
At this point, Y/n felt like he really needed answers. Hopefully, he could convince Akihiko of the same.
Y/n nervously tapped the butt of his pencil on his notebook, not even bothering with taking notes today. He was way too wound up to even consider something as mundane as notetaking. The girl next to him shot a glare his way for his bouncing leg and thumping pen, but Y/n didn't pay her any mind.
Another line of mathematical problems was erased on the board.
"Alright class, moving forward, I would like to state that each of these lessons build off of each other. I hope you are paying the due attention. Now, for problems eleven, fourteen, and twenty-three, I — "
The school's alarm went off blaringly loud sending Y/n's heart into a frenzy.
Shit, shit, shit.
"The school is going into immediate lockdown. Teachers please follow the green label on the school's emergency response folder," the intercom sounded and Y/n's stomach tied itself into knots. "Do not, I repeat, DO NOT, release the students unless it is me, or another trustworthy authority. Everyone, remain calm."
The teacher quickly retrieved the green slip from the emergency response folder and directed the students to hide underneath their desks and along the wall. She locked the door and raised a finger to her lips.
"Not a word," she said.
Y/n was crouched under his desk, knees to his chest, wondering if he had fucked up. Like big time fucked up. He only knew of one person who'd cause the school to go into emergency lockdown procedures. It had happened a few times before, when Akihiko was still happily murdering every little blip on Miho's radar.
Shit, shit, shit, Y/n rested his forehead on his knees.
Fuck, at least it isn't me. I really thought it was going to be me. It sounded somewhat strange to Y/n for seemingly no reason at all. Akihiko has threatened me a thousand times and more importantly, Akihiko... he seemed most angry at me. Well, most weird toward Y/n anyway. Besides if Akihiko is likely to kill anyone — Y/n stopped that particular train of thought.
