For the rest of the outing, I didn't speak a word. In the end, they decided to go home.
"Violette love?" Ariana said, putting her hand on my knee.
I looked up at her.
"We're going to the Wendy's drive thru. Do you want anything?"
I shook my head.
She sighed, looking over to Frankie through the car mirror. "Come on Vi, you must be hungry" Frankie persists.
"I'm fine." I repeat.
He sighs, rolling down the car window, to give the order.
As he does so, my phone buzzes again.
TEXT:
UN: just saw u in a magazine
UN: why? idk ur irrelevant
UN: ur sister was in it too
UN: she's so beautiful compared to u lol
UN: if u keep ignoring me, there will be consequences
I hesitated, before replying.
Violette: Who is this? If you're going to be so hurtful, tell me who you are.
Almost immediately they replied.
UN: haha I'm not saying
Violette: Do you even know me personally?
UN: yes. we've talked.
Violette: Girl or boy?
UN: girl
Violette: Are you in my grade?
UN: grade above
I had absolutely no idea who this could be.
UN: I'm never going to tell u who I am, but if u guess correctly I will.
Violette: But I have no idea
UN: shame then, isn't it ?
Violette: Should I be afraid or ?
UN: maybe not yet.
Violette: What's that suppose to mean?
UN: just keep ur mouth shut and you'll be fine for now.
A worried, yet confused look came to my face.
"We're home Sweetie" Ariana chimed in. I nodded, furrowing my eyebrows; while still in confusion.
"You gonna talk to us yet?" Frankie asks.
I continue to stare at the ground, as we walk into the apartment building. "It's not that I'm like.. snubbing yous or anything.. It's just that you won't understand."
"Darling, of course we'll understand." Frankie says, as we stand in the elevator.
Again, my phone started ringing. "I'll talk about it later. I've gotta take this." I replied, reading the same unknown number that I've been texting.
"Hello?"
"Ah, Violette! Hello"
"What is it?" I ask, sternly.
"I'd watch your tone if I were you. Don't want anything tragic to happen at school tomorrow.."
"What do you mean? Tragic ?"
"Stand by my word Violette, you shan't tell a soul about these texts, or phone calls, whatever,, just don't."
"And what will you do for me?" I ask.
The evlevator stopped and I walked out. Speed walking towards our apartment, to loose Frankie and Ari.
"Nothing. Haha! As if ! You're scared of me. I have the power to hurt you emotionally, and physically. You have nothing. You're worthless."
"Then what do you want from me?" I persist.
"Nothing. I just like making you feel bad. It's fun."
By the time she hung up, I was in the apartment.
