"Aiya..." Y/n sighed, rubbing her temples. She took a swig of water and sat up on her yoga mat. She stretched her arms, aching with the familiar exhaustion of a good workout. Her gaze darted to the gym door as the handle jiggled, and Aizawa poked his head in the room.

"Are you finished training?" He asks, quirking his eyebrow at her. Y/n nods, taking another long gulp of water. "Good. I withdrew you from the UA entrance exam,"

"Ah, thanks, Dad." Y/n screwed on the lid of her water bottle with a squeak as his words processed in her sleep-deprived brain. "Wait, you did what?!" She shrieked, dropping the bottle, the metal clanging uncomfortably loudly on the gym's concrete floor. Aizawa cringed at the noise before clearing his throat in the accompanying tense silence.

Aizawa nodded, his eyes darting around the gym. Despite living in the apartment complex for almost three months, he'd only ever glanced around the room. It wasn't a bad setup at all. "Nezu has decided to give you a role in the entrance exam because of how versatile your quirk is," He leaned casually on the doorframe, watching for Y/n's reaction.

Y/n narrowed her eyes at his relaxed nature. "What kind of role?" she asked warily, remembering Nezu's fondness for surprise growing up.

"He wants you to fill in for the Zero-pointer bot. They can't get it to function properly, so Nezu's sending some support course second-years to check it out," he sighs, running his free hand through his hair, "If they can get it fixed in time for the exam tomorrow, he's just gonna tack you on as bonus points,"

Y/n let her body slump to the mat with a sigh. "So, I'm not going to study at U.A?"

"Oh, you're in already," Aizawa laughed, though his voice stayed relatively monotone, "Hizashi and I recommended you, and Nezu's not going to make you do the recommendation exams, so, no sweat."

"Another victory for nepotism," Y/n groaned, rubbing at her eyes as she looked up at the drab ceiling.

Aizawa rolls his eyes at her. "Nezu wants you there bright and early. Recovery Girl will explain the rest," Aizawa explains before flicking off the lights and closing the door, leaving his grumbling step-daughter in the dark.

The next morning, Y/n woke up and got ready without complaint, too anxious to be grumpy. Her heart thudded in her chest as she slipped on a compression shirt and some workout pants, hoping that her attire wouldn't be too casual for her 'role' in the exam. She tied/pinned her hair out of her face with shaky hands.

Hizashi knocked on the door. "Y/n, you ready, hon?" He called from the other side.

"Yeah, I'm ready," Y/n took a deep breath, trying to calm herself in front of her vanity. "I'm going to be great," She muttered to her reflection, before grabbing her water bottle and running shoes and meeting her fathers at the front door.

"You'll be fine, kid. Good luck," Aizawa patted her shoulder before sending her off.

Y/n smiled before bouncing down the stairs, slipping her headphones on.

Soon enough, the h/c-ette arrived at the UA campus and slipped through the slightly-ajar gate, continuing up the school's main entranceway. She traced the familiar path to the campus auditorium, recalling the few times her fathers allowed her to watch admissions ceremonies from backstage when they couldn't get a babysitter.

"Oh, there you are, dear!" Recovery girl clapped her hands softly, rushing over to meet Y/n as she pushed open the auditorium's heavy oak doors.

"Hey, Maman!" Y/n leaned down to hug the old woman. She'd known the pro hero forever, so addressing her with such a familial title wasn't strange. Recovery Girl hugged her tightly, patting her upper back with her soft, chilly hands. "So, what's this 'villain' thing that Nezu has me doing?"
