Thirty-Two cards

Y/n Yamada lay asleep in her apartment. Her f/c sheets bunched up around her like a nest, only the h/c-ette's tangled hair visible. Around her was a fairly neat room, with it's plain grey walls and awkward photos framed crookedly on the wall. She said the tilts gave the photos more character, while her fathers disagreed.

From every unused crevice and crook on her cherry-wood desk one could only see cards. And chocolates. And other small gifts.

The sports festival had happened over a week ago, and those cards were from friends, acquaintances, and even strangers who had watched the h/c-ette win each tournament.

A delicate snore emerged from Y/n's half-open mouth. She shifted, burying herself deeper in her nest of comfort. Her phone chimed, making the girl open one eye lazily, withdrawing the device from under her pillow. The bright screen blinded her, even thought the brightness was less than half.

The notification was a text from an unknown number.

'Greetings. This is Todoroki Shoto. I had Midoriya-Kun provide me with your number. Is this Y/n Kuma?'

Y/n groaned, just wanting to throw her phone as far away as possible and go back to sleep. But of course, now that she was awake, she was awake for the day. She rambled off a confirmation text to Todoroki, who she saved in her contacts as "🔥Ice, Ice, Baby❄" .

She dressed in a black pleated skirt, hooking a chain onto the loops. Next she put on a white collard shirt and a pink sweatshirt, tucking the bottom into the skirt. Pulling on her thigh high sock , she heard her phone buzz once again.

'Meet me at Shinamura park in 20'

Y/n sighed, already beginning to pack her purse.

"The audacity," She clucked her tongue, a small smile on her face regardless. "Didn't even ask if I was busy,"

Y/n snatched her strawberry milk purse, placing her phone in it. She pulled on a cute pair of (fave shoe brand) and was on her way, thinking of all that had happened in the last week.

"In fourth place, Fumikage Tokoyami, who has won a $50 gift card to Chipotle!" The crowd erupted in cheers for the flustered birb boy.

"In third place, Todoroki Shoto, who has won the UA bronze medallion," Again, more cheers rushed throughout the audience, most of whom just politely clapped for the son of Endeavour.

"Second place, we have Katsuki Bakugou, recipient of the UA silver medallion" A platform was raised slightly to signify placing, as with the other winners, and a thrashing figure could be seen in chains and a muzzle. Bakugou had been perceived as a major threat, and so was restrained as one. Whispers cascaded like a waterfall as the poor teen struggled against the unneeded bonds.

"And lastly, winning first place, and the UA gold medallion in this years sports festival is... Y/n Kuma!" Y/n, whose ankle was bound in a professionally-made splint hobbled from an entrance on the left of the arena.

On seeing Bakugou and the rest of her podium-situated peers, she broke into a sprint, ignoring the white-hot flashes of residual pain in her ankle.

"Bakugou!" Y/n cried, clumsily jumping up to meet his platform. She knew a panic attack when she saw one. "It's okay, love," She soothed smoothing his hair back from his forehead. "It's over now... This is alright, I'll get you out of this,"

Before the crowd's very eyes, Y/n snapped the chains restraining her beloved friend, grabbing his chin so she could free his frenzied face. The female could practically see the flashbacks playing on the screen of his mind.
