"So She's going to your school? Atleast you'll have a friend " that was very insulting. Mom thought I didn't have any friends but I did. I just never brought them around.

"You don't know about my social life", it was very hurtful that my own mother didn't think that I could have any friends, " for your information I am a social butterfly ".

"Sure you are honey" it was dinner time and my father had yet to come but we never eat without him.

"I have friends" I put my hands on my chest and pulled my chair out.

"Vanessa doesn't count"

"I'm not including her" i was sassy that was one thing I got from her.

"Ok, then. Who else is your friend? Not including Vanessa " she raised her brow waiting for a response that she knew I didn't have.

"Well.... umm.."

"Exactly. Vanessa is your only friend and I'm not saying that's a bad thing. She's an excellent young lady, but you have to expand your circle ofther wise you'll be hung up on that one person"

Me and Vanessa have been friends for a long time. My mom and hers both got pregant in college. And they went eveywhere together. My dad stayed and Vanessa dad just got scared and ranaway. Who wouldn't? Like that's a big responsibility. Mom and dad took care of them for a while until Vanessa mom found herself someone that can take care of them both. Vanessa is convensed that he is her father. I wouldn't dare tell her the truth, either.

A lot of things happened in that family that I can't understand. But things happen for a reason.

After dinner, which dad had called to say that he wasn't going to be able to get on time, me and mom had watched a movie that was on FX. Later, like at around ten dad came and went straight to bed. I would do the same. Sometimes I feel bad for my dad having to be working for so long and not getting time for us.

I was brushing my hair when my phone starting ringing.

"I hope you don't plan on going to sleep so early"was the first thing she said. Not a hello.

"Yes actually. Why?" I placed my phone between my ear and shoulder while I brushed my hair.

"Your no fun sara" she wined.

"What do you want Vanessa? " she wanted something I knew it.

"Just wanted to talk to you, that's all", wait for it, " ok so here's the thing". I knew it.

She went on telling me about how her on again off again boyfriend was going to the same school. They always did that but i always ignored her.
