It was nighttime when Mia took me out of my dorm. Apart from the pitch-black hallway and cold stone walls, there was the old lady again. She seem true to her words as she patrols the flights of stairs then around the Defense Dorm.

"May I ask, but why this time?"

Maybe Mia wouldn't mind to cross out something.

"He's active this time." She flicked her yellow scarf. "You don't want to catch him asleep at dawn, right?"

I simply nodded. "Okay... point taken."

"Good." Mia frowned a bit.

Her motive is unknown. In this point, she was much closer to finding answers-- her answers actually. She would act so strange but all in a while it means something.

Just like the murdered teddy bear at the library. We both knew it was not intentional. Not ever.

Mia led me away from the old guard and the dorms. Once outside, she adviced that I should wear a scarf at night.

Hedges and more trees with Sakuras mixed with the green met our gazes. There was also a fountain sitting into it with benches in a scattered, but neat way. Mia most likely knew this area, since she always come here and then, reading and nothing more except when the breaktime's over.

"Never thought I'll see him here." Mia muttered bitterly as we hid behind a bush.

"I'm really confused right now, Mia." I said while scratching my head. "Not more than the first week of the school year gets worse than my junior days."

Mia shook her head while smiling a bit. "Oh no, you don't. This is just the beginning of some minor case."

I didn't heard her wrong, did I?

"Minor case?"

"Yes. Minor case. What's wrong with it?"

That escalated too quickly.

"Wait. Wait... so Kristoph is some kind of murderer or something?"

Perhaps I pissed her off as she frowned and clasped her fists.

"That was pretty accurate, Phoenix." She said lowly.

"Then... why now? Could you just go and catch him to the prison jar already?"

"That was far from being possible." Mia replied, like she was quite fond today getting her answer.

She reached for her pocket to show me a piece of Universal Serial Bus in dark colors.

"You know this?"

I can't believe it...

"It was the..."

"I was right then." Mia smirked. "Now, you wanted some bigger casket to place on for this evidence?"

"You mean, he murdered someone?"

She took a while before nodding at me.

"Then what about the teddy bear?"

She looked at her watch before answering back.

"That was an another party's evidence. He doesn't like fluffy things to get butchered, Phoenix."

"Then what if we see him tonight? What next?"

Mia looked at the fountain.

"Well, of course. A mock trial will be held. All I needed right now is evidences, not speculations. In that way, I'll gurantee you that it will just take a minute or so to finish the case."

A mock trial in a law school doesn't sound strange but conducting it? That was something.

"I don't know if I'm helping or something to do with your case, Mia. I'm pretty messed up."

Mia just smiled. "No. You're helping my case recently, so don't call yourself some random wanderer who stumbled on some mud."

More minutes of waiting, and Krisptoph finally showed up with someone. He was clearly pissed off.

"This was your last chance to pay today, am I right?!"

One student in a red suit uniform was whimpering at one side, probably a bad wake up call from Kristoph.

"It was! But not anymore..."

Mia frowned in focus as she listened on.

"You brisket don't need your life, indeed." Kristoph grasped some small bottle from his fist.

Anyone could see it as ordinary, but when in Mia's and that other student's eyes, that was more than just bottle.

"P-Poison!" The student recognized the bottle's content.

Kristoph smiled rather devilishly than kindly taking the compliment. "Glad you knew my specialty, Apollo. But such a shame really, you would never know the wonders it could do."

"Poison... I knew that Kristoph was still onto that thing. If I can only outsource his sources, then he have to reserve to brutal force instead..." Mia muttered again, rather full of hate and determination to take Kristoph down.

I was thinking there for a while.

Kristoph loves chemistry, in that way, he could apply those into the compositions of the chemicals he could use to make poison. If not his most lethal round, he could always experiment with other chemicals to make semi-lethal poison for his arsenal. That was flexible. Nicely touched and he would always find a way to possess poison at will.

That changed his stand on me. Perhaps...

"... I was his next target?"

"Probably. He cleans up loose ends quite effectively." Mia answered.

It was better that Mia reminded me to get out of the box for a while. That was her get going every time she goes after for some curious hunting.

"I got enough." Kristoph smeared the knife's blade with the violet poison.

What would I do? He was just about to kill that student in front of our eyes. Did we just have to watch some another tormenting murder?
