SNAP

Someone turned on the lights.

"Hey, what'chu doing there?"

Then they called Kristoph's attention all in a while. And once they did approach him, he all but ran away, giving chase.

While me... I was just confused.

"Dumb efforts, but I guess he bought that."

Mia picked up Kristoph's knife smeared in fresh poison and into a ziplock bag. I didn't realized that she jumped out of our hiding spot.

Sorting out her inventory, she helped up the student Kristoph tried to murder.

"That was a close call." Mia greeted. "But I have to say, that was a good move to avoid bribery."

Wait... now he's doing bribery?!

"Thanks..."

Mia faced me as she noticed me behind her.

"Phoenix, this is Apollo Justice. He's the bookkeeper around the libararies."

"Junior class." Apollo added.

I was quite confused as I looked at Mia.

"So you knew each other?"

"No... She is just..."

Mia shrugged. "As you may know, that's confidential."

Both Apollo and I became bewildered. That was the harsh trade-in, did she know that?

"Anyway..." Mia grabbed the ziplock bag with the knife inside. "... Can you still make it?"

"Make it where?" Apollo asked.

"For the mock trial. Do you still want to go?" Mia stiffly said.

"Well, now that he's on a verge of dying on a cookie jar, I guess I won't miss it for the world."

Agreement turned out to be hasty as the old security guard came towards us from far away.

"You three! Get over here!"

"Uh oh, Oldbag." Mia frowned for the last time. "Meet you two at the Judiciary Hall tomorrow. Go hit the gas."

I nodded and we all splitted apart. Apollo ran towards the Canteen, Mia ran towards the open ground of the Defense side, whilst she gave chase, I quickly ran to the dormitory. I opened my own dorm, and closed the door as fast as I could.

---

Now that she was gone, I started to recollect myself.

I concluded that the mock trial is going to happen. It seem so bizarre, but Mia could never betray anyone. And she told me to come over and see it for myself. That was all I needed to head over and see, as Kristoph would be over me now since he would soon realize that I knew his true colors under Mia.

But I tried to remember that one student Kristoph almost tried to kill... Apollo was it? How on earth Mia knew everyone in the campus in less than a day? I have to confront her about this. She would surely lure away if I'll press on the class tomorrow.

What would she do though? Something about cases... what is she doing?

Argh... Come on. I just need to sleep. Overthinking makes me wonder more. Besides, it was nighttime already. I could go for a good sleep now.

It was time. Time to come to the...

CREEAAKK

No noise around the dormitory. I could barely hear the door opening as I did so. Where is everybody?

As I walked out of the hallway, everything was still awfully quiet...

... but not until I saw the Judiciary Hall. That was simply too crowded for anyone who would pass by.

Everything is now a messy junk of pure noisy crowd. I couldn't even count the people around me due to density. What's with today anyway?

"Is it murder?"

"I can't believe that guy was nuts."

"Yeah he's a total freak. Why would anyone do that?"

Those were just a few speculations. At least some of them anyway. I now knew where to go, inside where it was being conducted.

To the place where Mia reminded me to go which was close by up front.
