Tang Yi knew how to pull strings, so in two days Shao Fei was comfortably sitting with a therapist in a secluded area of their back garden.
The therapist looked only a little older than Shao Fei himself, she had a friendly face and a warm, comforting voice. Shao Fei found it easy
to open up to her.

“ It’s very clear you want to feel better and that’s a good thing. You also put your emotions and thoughts into words quite well. I can see that you are good at analysing things when you want to.” She said with a small smile, when their session was drawing towards the end.

“ Well, I am a police officer.” Shao Fei chuckled lightly.

“ Indeed.” The therapist laughed and bid her goodbyes.

Shao Fei walked slowly around the garden. He felt tired and drained, but somehow his mind felt
clearer and more at ease. He felt like he might be able to learn how to let all the dark thoughts
come and go, without them breaking his mind apart. He did not believe he could make them ever really disappear, but they did not have to control his life and that would be enough for Shao Fei.
Tang Yi was not home, which Shao Fei was quite happy about. He felt like he needed a nap before dealing with his boyfriend. That’s why he curled up in their bed and fell asleep instantly.

Tang Yi found Shao Fei sleeping soundly in their bed in the middle of the afternoon. He looked
peaceful and adorable with his tousled hair and calm breathing. Tang Yi could not resist the
temptation and slid under the blankets and wrapped Shao Fei into his arms.

“ Hi!” Came a sleepy greeting from his boyfriend, who snuggled tightly against Tang Yi’s side.

“ How was the therapy session?”

“ Mmm, quite good, I guess. The therapist was very nice. But it takes surprisingly lot of energy to
rake through all the rubbish in your own head.” Shao Fei yawned and gave Tang Yi an embarrassed smile.

“ You take another nap then, baby. I’ll go and make some dinner.” Tang Yi whispered and kissed gently Shao Fei’s soft lips.

The person sending pictures to Shao Fei seemed to be taking a break, which was pretty unnerving. Shao Fei had a feeling that Jack was onto something, but did not question him.

He knew that Jack would give him or Tang Yi the information at some point. Shao Fei didn’t like to
be kept in the dark, but he tried to concentrate on his work and ‘getting better’ as Tang Yi put it.

After four weeks of nothing happening, someone approached Meng Shao Fei’s desk.

Shao Fei lifted his head when he heard confused murmur around the office. There was a stunning looking
woman standing in front of his desk.

The woman from the photographs.

“ How may I help you?” Shao Fei asked calmly while giving Zhao Zi a completely inconspicuous signal to alert Tang Yi.

“ Did you not receive my message?” She asked in a high pitched voice.

“ Would you please clarify, which message you mean? I’m afraid I don’t know you.” Shao Fei
gave her a warm and clueless smile.

“ The pictures of me and Tang Yi.”

“ Oh, so this is about those pictures. Would you please follow me outside?”

“ Why?” She arched her perfect eyebrow.

“ Well I do hope it’s a personal matter not a police matter.” Shao Fei said simply, with a slight warning in his tone. “ I don’t tend to talk about my private life here.” He added and motioned her to follow him. He gave Zhao Zi another undetectable signal and walked composedly out of the
office.

The woman followed Shao Fei outside and around the corner, away from my prying eyes.

“ So, what do you want?” He asked and crossed his arms. Shao Fei tried to look at least a bit intimidating while offering himself a little bit of comfort.

He suspected that she had something
concerning to say and Shao Fei did not want to crumble now.

“ I want you to leave my man alone.”

Your man?”

“ Yes, my man. We are getting married, you little whore. He doesn’t need you anymore.” Her words were full of venom and Shao Fei felt all the doubts and dark thoughts swarming through his brain. But he held his head high and gave the woman a curious eyebrow.

“ You’re getting married with Tang Yi?”

“ Yes, I tried to give you a gentle warning, but you keep pestering him. He had his fun with your
slutty ass, but he doesn’t need a ugly boy toy like you anymore. Tang Yi is getting married with me!” She screamed and stomped her sharp, black heel to the ground.

“ I am indeed getting married, but not to some crazy bitch, who keeps insulting my fiancé.” Tang
Yi’s voice rang through the air, when he calmly walked to the scene. The woman’s eyes widened and her mouth fell slightly open.

Tang Yi gave Shao Fei a small smile. He was very proud of his boyfriend. When he heard the horrible words the woman spat from her evil mouth, he was afraid of Shao Fei’s reaction. He knew what Shao Fei was afraid of and the woman was giving Shao Fei’s insecurities a real feast. But his lover was calmly standing there and keeping the conversation going until Tang Yi and Jack arrived.

He was glad that Shao Fei had alerted Zhao Zi, who had followed them outside, so Shao Fei was not really alone with the woman. Who knew what was going that woman’s head.

“ Hey, wait! Did you say fiancé?” Shao Fei asked with a confused look.

“ Yes. This crazy lady spoiled my romantic surprise, but I was not going to take ‘no’ for an
answer anyway, so you are my fiancé now.” Tang Yi said matter-of-factly.

“ Oh, okay.” Shao Fei smiled widely.

“ So, would you care to explain what you are after?” Tang Yi asked from the woman, who was looking pale and angry.

“ Don’t you get it? We are perfect for each other. You don’t need to keep that whore anymore. I can give you everything you want.”

She took a step towards Tang Yi, but Shao Fei took a step between them. That seemed set something off in her mind. She suddenly lunged forward and a harp pain ripped through Shoe Fei’s side.
