Tang Yi was happily surprised by the way Shao Fei was handling the fact that his mother had declared she had no son. Shao Fei seemed almost happy with the situation. Like he was
determined to be happy without his parents support. He had the same stubborn glimmer in his eyes he used to have when he was chasing after Tang Yi.

Only a few days after Shao Fei’s visit to his parents house, Mrs. Meng came to the police station. She screamed and cried, she even tried to slap Shao Fei again, but Zhao Zi stepped in
and prevent her hitting her target.

“ Please, madam. Assaulting a police officer is a serious thing, even if he is your son.” He said calmly with a sad, but stern voice.

“ I have no son!” Mrs. Meng screamed.

“ Mother, as long as you are unable to accept me as your son and Tang Yi as my soon to be husband, I wish to have no contact with you. When you are ready to be my mother again, I’m
ready to be your son again.” Shao Fei said and stepped out of the office. He knew Zhao Zi would handle his mother and let him know when he could get back to work.

While waiting he dialed Tang Yi’s number and his fiancé picked up almost immediately.

“ Hi, baby! Is everything alright?” Shao Fei smiled to himself at the sound of his lover’s voice.

“ Yes. Mother came to the station to tell me off. I left Zhao Zi to handle her. Just wanted to hear your voice.”

“ Are you sure you’re okay? I mean, if you are not, it’s okay.” Tang Yi said tentatively, concern evident in his voice.

“ I’m sure. I know it’s hard to believe, after you’ve seen me losing my shit hundreds of times over, but this time I really am okay. I mean, it’s not nice, having your parents declaring you’re
not their son, but I’m not going to let them break me. They have done enough damage already, no need to let them do more, now is it?”

“ I’m so proud of you, baby boy. So very proud.” Tang Yi whispered. Shao Fei knew he was smiling that secret smile of his.

Tang Yi was negotiating with his assistant about the last details of his suit for the wedding, when
he heard someone approaching him. He turned around just to come face to face with Chen Hua.

“ You just don’t know what’s good for you, do you?” He asked with an annoyed voice.

“ Oh but I do, Tang Yi.” Chen Hua gave Tang Yi a flirty smirk. Tang Yi sighed and dismissed his assistant, who gave them a curious look.

“ I’m pretty sure I made it very clear that I want you nowhere near my fiancé ever again.” The threat was evident in Tang Yi’s tone of voice.

Shao Fei was having the final fitting of his suit and Tang Yi just hoped he had time to deal with Chen Hua before Shao Fei was done.

“ Who cares about that idiot? I want you!” Chen Hua stated boldly and wrapped her arms around Tang Yi’s neck. “ You can’t even imagine what I could offer you.” She whispered
seductively and breathed hotly against Tang Yi’s chin.

“ And you can’t even imagine the things I could do to you.” Tang Yi whispered back.

“ But I want to find out.” Chen Hua was practically panting, her face flushed and an ecstatic smile plastered across her face.

“ You have no idea who I am, have you?” Tang Yi laughed darkly.

“ Tang Yi, I can’t let you order a hit, you know that.” Said Shao Fei with an amused voice, from his spot behind Tang Yi.

Tang Yi quickly turned around and when he got a look of the little smirk tugging the side of his fiancé’s lips, he smiled.

“ Always so law-abiding, how boring.” He sighed. “ So how was the fit? No need for alterations?” He then asked casually, like the woman still gripping his arm, wasn’t even there.

“ No, no, the fit was perfect.”

“ Good, good. Can’t wait to see you wearing it.” Tang Yi smiled brightly and Shao Fei smirk got even wider, when they heard Chen Hua making frustrated noises.

“ Are you still here?” Shao Fei asked, his eyes innocently wide and surprised.

“ She’s quite stubborn.” Tang Yi muttered.

“ So you were after Tang Yi all along.” Shao Fei mused. “ You should’ve made your research a little better. It was never a secret he was dating me. Not even when it probably should’ve been.”

“ I thought you were going to say, it was never a secret I knew the people who could kill her and make sure her body was never found.” Tang Yi said and smiled evilly at the shocked look on Chen Hua’s face.

“ Please, Tang Yi, no need to go overboard.” Shao Fei scolded his lover with a small huff.

“ But, baby, it’s true. I am after all the mob boss you were running after, also known as ‘the bitch
you cheated her with’.” Tang Yi chuckled.

“ What the fuck are you talking about?” Chen Hua asked. She had finally let go of Tang Yi’s
arms and was standing there, looking angry and confused.

“ Your loss is my gain. Maybe I should actually thank you. You broke up with Shao Fei, because he was working too hard, trying to catch me and that led to him falling into my arms, quite literally.” Tang Yi’s smile kept getting
bigger if possible, when Shao Fei blushed and rolled his eyes. He leaned towards Chen Hua
until his lips were right beside her ear. “ In two days I’m marrying my Shao Fei and nobody is going to become between us. We have waited long enough and no one is going to ruin it. No one.” He whispered.

Chen Hua drew in a sharp breath and hurried out of the shop.

“ I hope that was the last of her.” Shao Fei sighed and rested his cheek against Tang Yi’s shoulder.

“ If it wasn’t, can I then order a hit?” Tang Yi asked and earned a slight punch.

“ Don’t talk so lightly about ordering someone’s death.”

“ What ever you say, darling.” Tang Yi smirked and planted a kiss on the top of Shao Fei’s head.
