It was like Konju's body had learnt how to fight without him realising. He could dodge Valtor's attacks without much problem and retaliate enough to send him stumbling back for a while.
And what made it even better was that by doing this, he could help someone out of their darkness.
Konju used the nunchucks to attack Valtor again, this time not holding back at all. Valtor was sent flying to a wall, growling in anger as his injuries got worse.
"I'm giving you one more chance to back out of this, Valtor!" Konju warned. "I really don't want to fight you!"
Valtor scowled, struggling to get up, "As if I would let you roam around freely to ruin my plans! I worked too hard to be beaten by a brat!"
"I'm not just any brat! I'm a brat who's ready to beat you to help you see the light!" Konju shot back before he charged for Valtor, feinting a left to kick him back.
The villain's shout of pain was enough to tell Konju to end this.
To end him.
But Konju couldn't.
If he did...
Then that would make him just like Valtor.
Towering over him, Konju thought over his options.
After a while, he turned around.
And started walking away.
"W-Where are you going?..." Valtor snarled, using his hands to inch towards Konju.
"I'm sparing you," Konju replied shortly. "I believe that you can be better than this, so I'm giving you a second chance."
Valtor's eyes widened in shock. His movement ceased hearing that.
Konju took that as a sign to leave, his back the last thing Valtor saw before he blacked out, only to be found by Griffin afterwards.
"You did great, Konju."
"E-Equestro!" Konju jumped slightly as Equestro appeared beside him out of nowhere at a lake.
Equestro snickered a bit seeing this, "Have you gotten that stiff to the point of being surprised by everything after the battle?"
"N-Not really..." Konju flushed.
"It was a joke, Konju," Equestro patted his head. "But you really did great against Valtor, especially your final decision to spare him."
"H-Huh?" Konju turned to look at the adult. "You saw?"
He nodded, a proud smile on his face, "I sent you here to see if you were the right candidate for something. And I was right."
Konju's eyes widened upon hearing that, finally understanding, "It was you, wasn't it? The one who helped me fight in the battle."
"Extra points for Konju," Equestro nodded. "I think that you would do great as a Borrowed Actor. You can help others be better versions of themselves from behind the scenes."
Konju's mouth went open, "H-How did you...?"
Equestro just gave him a grin, "I'm psychic, Konju."
Konju blinked once more, before he burst out laughing, which was soon followed by Equestro as they sat at Daphne's Lake.
"Very well then! I accept your offer!" Konju grinned back at the adult, allowing a toothy grin to appear on the other's face.
"Great to know!" Equestro held out his hand. "We good?"
Konju nodded, "We good."
They shook hands there, with the sun slowly setting to form a wonderful spectrum that highlighted the moment.
