Scarlett collapsed on the floor of the Rampion, a fine sheen of sweat on her face. So many days with only one meal were finally getting to her. She felt dizzy, black spots dancing in her vision.
"Ashes, ashes we all fall down!" Winter giggled, tumbling into the ground next to Scarlett. Cinder leaned over her, concerned, saying something but Scarlett could scarcely hear her and she also sounded like she was underwater.
"Dddooonnn'tttttt," Cinder was looking elsewhere at ... whoever was next to her... Winter, was it? "Iiiitttt'sss aaaa ssssooonnnggg aaabbboouuttt ddeeeaaattthhh." (A/N she said: it's a song about death. Easy translate.) Scarlett felt pain, which jarred her senses back into reality, her hands failing wildly."It's a song about death, Winter, death!" Cinder's voice stopped sounding like it was underwater. Scarlett struggled to her feet.
"Ouch," she said, ruefully, grabbing her left hand. Someone had touched the spot her pinky finger used to be. "Who touched the stub?"
"Wasn't me!" Two boys called out at the same time. They looked identical. Like twins but one was taller. "It was my brother!" They glared at one another. "No, it was you!"
"Scarlett? Are you alright? Do you need anything?" Cress appeared at her side. As fast as they disappeared, the spots reappeared and along with them, brought a headache. Scarlet staggered, groaning slightly and brought her hand to her head. Pinpricks of pain shockwaved through her body, similar to before only making the headache worse.
"CONNER!!!! TRAVIS!!!! STOP DOING THAT BEFORE I IMPALE YOU WITH MY KNIFE!!!" A girl, blond hair? It was hard to tell. All those spots in front Scarlett's eyes messed with her vision. Then shock waves of pain finally disappeared.
Wolf grabbed her and helped her sit. "Steady," he murmured, "don't stress yourself."
"Aces," Scarlett choked out. She hated feeling this weak! She wished she didn't have this headache, the hunger pangs and she wished she could be armed, with her pistol in hand. "I need an aspirin." She sighed.
"Here." Something was put into Scarlett's mouth. Urg. The bitter taste filled her mouth but her headache was considerably better.
Had the ship always been that big? Or was it because of her cell confinement?
"Who are all these people? Why is that guy holding my pistol? Ow. Why are those two still touching my... never mind. I'm also pretty hungry...ow" Scarlett trailed off as another pinprick of pain made her wince.
"Stolls." It was Cinder's voice, angry. Without looking, Scarlett imagined Cinder using her gift. Bending the Stolls to her will. The thought almost made her smile.
"These are our... new friends. That guy... I don't know. He just picked it up. Thorne is now blind. And... I have no idea. We have some tomatoes, would that be ok?" Cress smiled nervously, pressing a can and a fork into Scarlett's hands.
Scarlett ate hungrily, finally getting to satisfy her hunger.
"You're a vegetarian? Can't say I'm not disturbed. How do you eat those? They're like, devils in food form! Plus your... is he your boyfriend? Is like a freaking WOLF!!!! And eats all the meat. Oh and sometimes a load of veggies. Are you tree huggers?" A short curly-haired boy, who looked like an elf, half-yelled, looking like he was going to pee in his pants.
Scarlett glared at him. "Ok, pipsqueak. First of, do not insult anybody I know and like. Second, yes, he is my boyfriend. Third, I'm not vegetarian. Just grew up on a farm. Fourth, I'm not a tree-hugger. Fifth. Let. Go. Of. My. Pistol!!!" He dropped her pistol, holding both hands up in the air.
"Anyway, that is Leo, that's Percy, Annabeth..." Cress introduced all the strangers to Scarlett, telling her all their links to each other and telling her their parentage also breaking the news that four-millennia-old gods were alive.
"Sooo," Scarlett felt better, so she decided to make sure she got the basics, "three-thousand-year-old gods have been running around on Earth during... second era that time? They also had kids with mortals. Outcome: demigods." She jabbed her fork at the general group of unknowns-now-knowns. "My name's Scarlett. Nice to meet you." She stood up and walked towards the group. They were all eyeing her uncertainly.
"Are you the other mortal?" The blond girl-Annabeth blurted out. Scarlett nodded.
"Hi! I'm Winter! Not the season winter, just the name, Winter. You're probably wondering where you heard that from. It's from the season. You know, winter?" Winter greeted them, smiling.
"You sane?" Percy asked.
"Nope. I'm going crazy, you know, for not using my glamour? That's the price of not using the curse. Or blessing. Depends on how you're looking at it. I still think it's a curse." Winter subconsciously touched the parallel scars on her face, like she was remembering pain. Winter then twirled around and marched towards Cinder and scrounged up her face, leaning really close to Cinder, scrutinizing Cinder's face. The two were nose-to-nose, Cinder looking like a deer caught in headlights.
"I know you!" Winter exclaimed as Cinder jumped back, looking seriously freaked out.
"You-you d-do?" Cinder stuttered. Scarlett suddenly remembered that Cinder was. Princess Selene. Winter's cousin. Stars, this was some family reunion.
"You're that lady who makes my bed every morning!" Winter chirped.
Everyone aboard the ship exchanged glances, then burst out laughing.--------------------------------------------
Hey guys! Hope that was ok. I can't do Winter. That's Jeannie's job. Anyway, sorry if Scarlett was too fierce. She's actually a bit delusional from nobody for company but Winter. The pain was when the Stolls touched her non-existent pinky. Ouch. Also, when you're used to 3 full meals a day, having only 1 nowhere near full meal will make you near starving. Something about adaptation. Anyway, hoped you liked this chapter :) pls pls pls pls pls comment. I hate not knowing if my writing was good or not. Also, yay!!!!! We got 91 views. :):):):):):):). The next chapter will be out... Goodness knows when, reminded, it's the non-sane lady in the next chapter.
