David? Hello David? Where are you?
A surging pain went through David's neck towards his head.
David?
Where was he? Where was here? Come on get a grip on the situation. Try to think back of what happened. You left the city with Vanessa. And then? Something hit your head? No there was more to that. There was a gap in his memory. They had decided to go north.
Please come back David. They had decided to leave both the cities and just go a direction. Vanessa could feel the sun on her face and tell which way both the cities were located. Their town Earth was to the West. The other town to the East. So they decided to go north. And they.. met someone? No not someone.
I need you David.
The barren wastelands was only limited between the two towns. But more north there were fields. Lots and lots of fields growing all kinds of crops. There were buildings that looked like factories. But they couldn't be seen from both the towns. They were disguised in camouflage with the background. From Earth they could possibly be seen if anyone was able to see more than nothingness outside their town, but from the other town it was invisible.
They had walked through the fields together. They tried to eat some of the strawberries that were growing there. And then Vanessa had jumped up because she felt something looking at them. There were golems, robots disguised as humans working on the fields, harvesting them. But these did not look as human as they were in Earth. These had no face. But they had noticed them. They had walked slowly towards David and Vanessa. They had prepared to fight again, but they did not have to. Something started talking to them.David?
"Dont.. Afraid", the voice had said. "We.. Hurt.. You. We.. Help.. Please...Live..Work..Die"
A scarecrow slowly moved his face towards them. It made David jump. It was an actual face, but heavily damaged. Probably burnt. It also had two more eyes where it's hear should have been. Vanessa seemed more occupied with the golems surrounding them. It had said something important. But what was it? He couldn't remember. All he knew was what the golem had said at first did not make sense, and that later on it did. It made them decide to go outside. Outside of what?DAVID!
Vanessa's voice finally got through. David woke up. The fog in his mind had cleared. He wished the pain had disappeared as well.
"I'm awake, stop screaming please," David said annoyed. His head was throbbing. He tried to move his feet and figured he couldn't. Same counted for his hands. They were tied up? Who did this? Peter Gibbiwibbs?
"David I can't see and I can't move. So please help me," Vanessa said.
"I'm tied up. And so are you. We're back to back sitting on the ground. There is hardly any light coming from outside and it looks as if we're in some sort of round room. There are screens everywhere. Computer screens."
"Where are we?" Vanessa asked.
"In the old city's control center," a female voice said. It echoed throughout the place. David could not pinpoint where it came from.
"City? There is a city here? I thought that there were only two towns. Did we make it? Did we leave the valley?"
"The two towns you know used to be one big city. You're currently in a bunker in the center of it. Almost invisible and underground. In here we can control everything happening in both towns. From here Peter Gibbiwibbs controlled your town and your Halloween Night," the female voice said.
"I was born in Earth and Peter was originally from the town I currently control. He had freed me from Earth, just like he freed you two. I was the first to be free from that Halloween night."
"We argued for months why such a horrible night had to take place. Why did so many people have to be killed off? He never gave an answer. But every time i brought it up all he ever said to me was 'If you think you can do better, try it with my town.' And so I did. I made it the best place to live. A true utopia until Peter started to sabotage everything. He made the people in my town kill everyone off. He made them suicidal and depressed and he made it into another living hell, just like your town."
