Bethany's pov
"I've actually never seen this movie." I said while sitting back on her couch.
"Your missing out. This movie used to be my bible." She laughed.
I also laughed and put my feet up on the coffee table while she walked over to her kitchen.
"Want anything?" She asked while opening her cabinets and fridge.
"Nah."
"Well I'm making popcorn."
She walked back over to the leather couch after pressing the popcorn button on the microwave. Once she had the popcorn we ended up sharing it even though I had just said I wasn't hungry.
I looked over at her and she looked so intrigued so I laughed a little.
Once the movie ended I left the building just to go back to my little duplex that was at the end of an ally.
I walked inside and looked in my mailbox before walking up the stairs and stopping at my door.
When I got inside I was super bored so I decided to text Connor to ask if he wanted to come over even though I just left his building. I guess I didn't think that one through.
As soon as he got to my place he bombarded me with questions of why I didn't answer his texts and all this over dramatic stuff.
"Here have snickers." I said. "You're not you when you're hungry."
He just laughed and took the candy bar from my hand. After that we both just sat down on the couch watching American Horror Story because we were really behind on that. I felt really lazy because all I've been doing was sitting on the couch watching T.V. Oh well, at least it's with good company.
Connor and I just ended up snuggling for the excuse that he missed me. I mean, I love cuddling so I wasn't complaining.
"I gotta go." He said standing up and pecking my lips.
"Okay." I bidded him goodbye.
I was literally so bored and it was only 11pm. I walked over to my kitchen and looked in my fridge and realized that all I had in there was milk and some salad toppings. I guess I could go grocery shopping. That's pretty boring but not as boring as being a loner.
I got in my car and drove to the closest supermarket. I bought all the crap that I needed and walked over to the checkout isle and when I got there I saw a familiar face.
"Hey," I waved to Isabel that was the bagging lady.
"Paper or plastic?" She asked sarcastically while laughing. "Hey." She also added while putting a bag full of items into my shopping cart. (I write this a week before Alex from Target was actually a thing...)
"I didn't know that you worked here."
"I work in a lot of places." She sighed.
"Oh. Sorry." I felt bad now.
"It's okay. Everybody has to make ends meet somehow." She laughed lightly. I could tell she was trying to lighten the mood, so I did the same by changing the subject.
Once I paid I waved to her and then told her to facetime me when she could. She agreed and I went back to my house to put all my stuff away and then heard my phone ringing. It was about 12:30am so I just guessed that Isa got off her shift at the store.
"Hey" I said holding up a peace sign to my face. And with that we talked until like 3am. Yeah. We're cool like that.
..
I woke up the next morning to my phone ringing.
"Hello?" I said in grogging morning voice.
"It's your lucky day. Both your boyfriend and your best friend are outside your window waiting for you." Isabel spoke the the receiver. I laughed and looked out the window looking down a bit. They looked up waving before I hung up.
I went to my dresser and threw on something presentable since they were outside waiting. It was pretty cold for California today but everywhere up east is having like 30's so I wont complain. (me bc I live up east.)
"Hey" Isabel said running towards me hugging me. We became friends pretty quickly but I'm glad we did.
"What about me." Connor said before Isa walked away and he hugged me tighter.
"You guys are acting like we havn't seen each other in years."
"That's because we love you." Isabel spoke up. Love? Pretty strong word.
"Well, lets go."
"Go where?" I asked them as we walked towards a blue car. Must be Isabel's.
"Where ever today takes us." She smiled.
For the rest of the day we went to the mall, the movies, starbucks, and a lot more. Connor ended up taking my phone and messaging my friends for 'relationship advice'. I think he was just pretending to be me for his own humor.
"Why does your dad call you baby girl?" He asked while looking up from my phone.
"I don't know. I would tell him to stop but you know,.."
"That's kind of creepy." Isabel added.
"I know. Sometimes he texts me at the most random times of the day. I don't even like him, really." I shrugged.
"That's harsh."
After that strange conversation Isabel drove us back to the building where her and Connor live.
"My place or yours?" She asked Connor.
"Mine. It has a better view." So we all walked towards the elevator with bags in our hands and Connor pressed his floor button. When we got there he unlocked the door and I was presented with the same scenery that I had seen before.
"Does anyone want something to drink." Connor asked, his voice faint due to the distance between us.
"No thanks."
Isabel and I both showed off our clothes while Connor was in the kitchen preparing cheese and crackers or something like that.
Once he came out he indeed had cheese and crackers but joined by it was popcorn and chocolate covered strawberries.
"I didn't know you were a chef?" I said while taking a strawberry and putting it in my mouth,
"Eh. It gets tiring after a while." Isabel said.
After a while? Had they been together before? The thought had never come to mind until now but I suppose it is plausible.
Connor also gave her this look.
"Well," I started while gathering my bags. "It was nice spending the day with you but I have to go." I said walking out before they could respond.
I'm not sure why I rushed out of there but I felt, jealousy.
