Just like Dumbledore said he would. He had Kyle pulled from potions. Already a pretty good alchemist Kyle makes nothing but potions during the summer. He actually is studying to make a phliosophers stone. When ever he get frustrated he hangs with Nathan and makes harmless potions that he throws at a large piece of white paper. Painting it in a manner of speaking. Nathan often joins in but mostly they just talk as Kyle throws.
"So you're Mute Mandriff?" Kyle asked standing in front of the mirror of Eriset. I nodded as Tom snickered next to me.
"Well come on." Kyle said walking into the mirror. I grabbed Tom's sleeve, and followed Kyle through bringing Tom along with me. Inside Kyle's potion equipment was laid out across more than one dark wood table. Some wooden stairs leading up to the loft where the boys have their library. Kyle walked over a painting on the wall.
"You should know I've started preparing for situations like this." Kyle explained. Opening the painting like it was a door to shelf filled by flasks filled with all sorts of potions. Kyle pulls a single one off the shelf. "I mean come on it's been happening more and more often over these pass few years. You should find out what that mental block is." Kyle said handing me the bottle then quickly pulling it away says "Promise me you'll try to figure out what it is."
I nodded drawing a X over my heart.
"Good." Kyle hands me the bottle. I pop the cork and knock it back as quickly as I can so as not to taste a thing. Kyle turned to Tom.
"Now she needs to sleep for the potion to really kick in." Kyle started to explain
"So I need to get her to sleep no matter what...right." Tom said preventing Kyle from saying anymore. Kyle nodded, Tom grabbed my wrist. "Well let's go. Thanks Kyle." He said heading back the way we came.
"It's Wolfbane to you Riddle!" I heard Kyle shout as we exited the room. What was that about? I tried to pull my wrist out of Tom's grip but failed. When we made it to the library Tom stopped. He just stood there for a bit like he was thinking about something. The second question of the day came at that moment. What was Tom thinking about? After a while of just standing there Tom let go of my wrist. I tilted my head to one side. What's going on with him?
Tom grabbed my hand and lead me to my room. When he let go this time he disappeared. I closed my bedroom door and laid down on my bed. Staring at the ceiling I began to think about the entire situation.
Why did I keep becoming mute? Well what we know so far is that it can be caused by and vision of the past or future being block. The blockage is cause by some kind of mental block. Now I'm a rather open minded person on most subjects so finding it may be a problem. What are things I can never except?
"You need to get some sleep." Tom said sitting in my desk chair. I ignored him and continued to stare off into space thinking.
"Mint!" Tom said glaring at me "Don't ignore me! Hey! I know you can hear me!"
I turned and looked at Tom. He let out a sigh before saying in a soft tone "You need sleep you can think about the block later." Something about the way he spoke truly surprised me. The idea that Riddle could speak that softly had never crossed my mind. Who knows what else he could be capable of. I nodded and turned over onto my side.
"Thank you." Tom said. It took a while but I fell into a peaceful sleep.I know it's a short chapter, but I think it'll be just fine.
