Dani swore she was floating. She also swears that she hadn't even drunk that much but the empty case next to her begs to differ. Empty bottles lay around her room in a scatter, one broken and she thinks that's why there's a cut on her hand but she isn't sure because it could've been herself doing it on purpose or an accident from trying to clean the broke glass up.
Her eyes are glued to the floor-No, the floor is above her so it's the...the ceiling? Yeah, that sounds right to her. She's staring at the ceiling, the soft glow of the stars she stuck on her....ceiling at least fourteen years ago still glued to the top, exception of a few that found their way somewhere else instead of the sky like their supposed.
Her eyes go misty at the thought of her father throwing those poor stars away. They never had the chance and he just threw them away without a second glance. He's so cruel! A few tears slip down her cheeks and that confirms to herself that she truly is drunk, maybe a little high, but she's much too sad over the thought of the fallen stars to focus on trying to act sober.
She holds the last bottle of beer in her hands, silently thanking her reckless cousin for coming by and dropping it off for her as she stares at the bottle with a fond look in her tears eyes. She's glad she had the whole case because the taste isn't as bad as when she first started two hours ago and she feels all warm and fuzzy, like the socks on her feet that she keeps rubbing against her ankle, but that could be from the pill her cousin dropped off too.
Damn, has something ever been so beautiful than the beer in her hands right now? No, and you can't convince Dani otherwise as she stares at the warm bottle. This beer is probably the love of her life, so much love she might take this beer on a fancy dinner to those expensive places that give you shiny utensils and plays soft music in the back round. She's so in love with this bottle of beer she might just put a ring on it, after drinking it, of course. Can't waste the good beer for no reason.
Fuck, how much does it cost to get to the Bahamas? She rolls over, maybe a little too much because the ceiling-floor is catching her and she feels pain shoot through her arm and her whole left side body. She ignores, can't get down when she's got a wedding to plan. Her hand curls around her phone, holding it up in victory, as if she ran a marathon instead of falling on the floor. Crawling back onto her bed, she fumbled with her phone for a moment, successfully getting it to unlock and going on the internet to book a flight to the Bahamas to get married to her beloved beer bottle.
Speaking of, she opened it, slowly drinking it as she went through her phone. Is a beer bottle a carry on or a passenger? What is she saying? Of course, her wife is a passenger. She apologizes to the bottle after she finishes it, laying it beside her and biting her lip. Maybe drinking a whole case of beer and taking the random pill her cousin gave her wasn't the brightest idea but maybe it was because everything is so bright right now, especially her dad's face.
It's bright red and there's smoke coming out of his ears and the vine in his neck look like it'll pop as it twitches. He looks like...like...like that green man-thing on tv. Shrek? No, no, there's no Donkey next to her dad.
"Hulk!" She exclaims loudly, snapping her fingers as she drops her phone beside her with a laugh.
As amused as she is, her dad look more than unimpressed over everything as he moves into her room and shakes his head in disappointment. Taking the bottle closest to her, his neck vein twitched again when she hit his hand and shook her head, taking the bottle into her hands, coddling it like a baby.
"Don't touch her like that!" God, Dani is so blissed out right now.
"I knew it. I should've sent to with your sister or your brother but no. Your mother wanted to give you a chance a look what happened." He's muttering under his breath as he collects the many bottles, Dani more focused on trying to console her "wife" than trying to act a little less high but whatever her cousin gave her is really working through her system.
Her eyes widened when she hits her high, looking to her hands and they look like they've turned into stars as she drops the bottle and stares so intently. Maybe it was cocaine because she only feels like this when she's on cocaine. Her hands only turn to stars when she's on cocaine or that blue pill. What's it called again? Who cares, because it's making her feel so good right now. She just decides to call it cocaine and been done with the debate in her mind.
"Hey, hey!" She yells at her dad, catching his attention as he throws the bottles into her trash can.
She motions him over, looking around skeptically as she bites her lip. He goes over reluctantly, crossing his arm as she stands on her knees and giggles to herself. She moves his short hair to the side, letting her see his ear as she giggled again.
"I think I'm on coke right now it don't tell my dad. He'd kill me, like, four times." And, again, she giggled.
He shook his head, watching as she fell back onto her bed and grabbed her precious bottle again, holding "her" to her chest and cuddling with it. Her eyes fluttered closed and he left the room, no doubt going to talk to her mom.
If you hadn't notice, which I'm sure you have, this was the past. Well, this was a week ago so technically the past. It took one mess up after a bad breakup, over phone might she add, some stupid advice, also over the phone, from her sister and her cousin, through a window, to get sent to Highland so her aunt can deal with her "addiction" problems.
Dani's not addicted. She can quit whenever she wants, she just doesn't. She'd rather stay in a state of Euphoria than deal with her fucked life, that can somehow get worse as the taxi pulls off behind her and her backpack weighs her shoulders down slightly.
Maybe getting sober won't be so hard.
