As the two young boys walked to the hospital, they talked the whole time.

"Is your mum gonna be okay with me being there?" Phil asked inquisitively.

Dan shrugged his shoulders and then smiled at Phil, hugging him slightly with his shoulder.

"Hey! What was that for?" Phil joked as he lightly shoved back, no longer watching as the pavement dipped and curved next to the black asphalt next to them. One of the grey brick slabs had somehow broken, making some of the pieces be ejected from their original position of being flat to sticking up in jagged angles. Due to Phil's lack of attention, he tripped on one of the pieces and tripped.

After realizing that he was inevitably going to fall, he braced himself for the fall but the pain never came. Instead, he rolled over in his bed.. Wait.. His bed? When had he gotten there?

"Phil!" You need to wake up!" He heard his mum yell from outside his door. "You have to get ready for school!"

He groaned and checked the clock. When did it get so early? He thought to himself and sat up.

He stretched and then stood up out of his bed. He checked his phone to see no new notifications. He thought that Amy would've texted him. He unlocked his phone to text Dan a quick text to Dan, asking if he wanted to meet up before school and walk together but found that his number was deleted. "Mum! Have you been using my phone?!" He yelled and awaited her reply, which came shortly after.

"No! Why?" She yelled.

"Dan's number is no longer in my phone!" He replied as he walked out of his room, still in his pajamas.

"Uh dear? Who's Dan?" She asked and Phil chuckled to himself.

"He's the guy that the stupid head master is making me basically babysit because he's a huge trouble maker?" He asked and she gave him a confused look. "It started yesterday in first hour?" He said stupidly.

"Phil.." His mum said cautiously. "It's monday. You didn't have school yesterday. This is your first day back from break." She finished and panic set in Phil's stomach.

"What?" He asked and she walked over to Phil to see what was wrong with her son.

"Are you feeling alright dear?" She asked and he nodded.

"Just a really vivid dream I guess." He mumbled and then went to go get ready for school, feeling a weird sense of relief yet loss course through him.

Dan wasn't a huge part of his life anymore. Although, in his dream, he had fallen in love with him in one day. That should've been a dead give away that he had been dreaming.

Phil finished up in the shower and fixed his hair, laughing that he was in the same outfit as in his dream.

After eating some breakfast his mum had made him, he walked to school, getting there early as he usually did.

"Good morning Mr. Lester." Headmaster Becky greeted him and he gave her a warm smile and continued on his way to his locker. He opened the door, grabbed the required books for his first class, but before he could close the door, it was slammed shut.

"What're you doing, ya faggot?" He heard someone ask and he turned to see non other than Dan Howell smirking evilly at him.

"I'm trying to get some books out of my locker. And I thought you were the one who made out with a guy, not me." He quipped, completely forgetting the dream he had had the night before.

Dan pushed him against the wall of lockers and his glare intensified. "What the fuck did you fucking say to me?" He growled at Phil as he was pinned to the lockers.

"I said-" Phil started but suddenly something connected with his cheek and he realized Dan had slapped him. "The hell was that for?" He asked incredulously.

"You don't ever mention what Isupposedly did." Dan snapped and then smirked. "Unless, that's what you want from me?" The statement came out as a question and Phil just laughed.

"Why would I want to kiss someone like you?" He asked and he could see Dan's confident smirk falter slightly. "All you are is a bully with no life. Now, if you wouldn't mind, I have a class to attend. And you do too. So if you would let me go and then exit my life forever, that would be great." Phil replied sassily.

Dan quickly punched phil in the stomach, knocking the wind out of him and it took him a few seconds to regain his breath. "You'll eventually learn to choose your enemies better Lester." Dan whispered into his ear but Phil was too busy trying to remember how to get air into his lungs to realize Dan kissed his cheek before leaving.

- 4 years later -

Phil had gone on to graduate from his sixth form and move on to go to Manchester University. Dan had left him alone for the rest of sixth form, never getting any better with his actions and Phil never being asked to "babysit" him. Phil would sometimes remember the dream he'd had but would then brush it off. He didn't want to remember that dream. That retched dream that had made him believe Dan was a good person.

After Phil had began his uni courses, he felt a lot better about everything in his life. College was not his thing but he'd had to pass everything there so he could go to the Uni he wanted. Which brought him to the present day, him sitting in the small book store/coffee house that he worked at, on his lunch break, completely engrossed in a book when the timer he had set on his phone went off. Time to make some more coffee He thought and then stood up, going back to his position behind the counter and putting his apron on.

No one came in for a good 20 minutes and then the bell on the door chimed and Phil threw on his work smile and greeted the customer. "Hi! Welcome to-" He was cut short to see familiar brown hair and matching eyes. Dan.
