Their first stop was a small pub on a street corner. When they stepped inside a gasp came from Ember's lips as she moved a piece of her dark purple hair away from her face. This was the place. Michael smiled at her expression as they sat down at the familiar bar stools together.

---Flashback---

Her friend Bella had dragged her here without question. Ember was more of the stay at home on Friday nights while watching movies kind of person. Bella on the other hand, went out to party whenever.

Being uncomfortable with the somewhat loud music and musty smell of the dance floor, Ember made her way over to the leather bar stools.

"What'll it be?" A bar tender asked her.

"A sour soda please." Ember said and the bar tender looked surprised.

"Anything added?" He asked as he grabbed a glass and began pouring.

"Nope." Ember shook her head as the man muttered something to himself before waiting on the other few people at the bar. Ember took a drink of her soda before getting comfortable. She knew it would be a long night.

"Not much of a dancer?" A voice, thick with an accent, said next to her. Ember turned around to be met by a pale boy with dyed purple hair.

"Um, no not really." Ember admitted as she took another sip of her soda.

"Or an alcohol drinker?" The pale boy looked amused and Ember shook her head once more.

"No, I don't like the way it feels." Ember said as the boy sat down next to her. Ember did think he was attractive. Not much of Bella's type, but possibly Embers.

"Then let me ask you this." The boy said after ordering.

"Ask away." Ember shrugged.

"Why're you at a bar of all places?" He questioned and Ember sighed.

"When you have a partier for a best friend this is what happens." Ember smiled faintly.

"That makes two of us." He said looking towards one of his friends of the dance floor. Ember smiled again.

"I meant to ask, what's your name?" The purple haired boy asked her.

"Ember, and you?" Ember answered, taking another drink.

"Michael." He stuck out his hand for Ember to shake. She laughed a little as she did.

"Nice to meet you." Ember said. They fell silent for awhile. Quietly sipping away at their drinks until Michael broke their silence again.

"Which one of them is your friend?" He asked and Ember turned around to find Bella. She found the brunette dancing with a boy that had black hair.

"The girl with the tight clothes." Ember turned to him, just realizing that everyone there was. Well excluding her.

"That narrows it down." Michael scoffed, smiling.

"She's the one in the tight white dress." Ember clarified and Michael's eyes scanned over the bunch of people until he found her.

"Oh, the one dancing with my friend?" Michael laughed a little at the coincidence.

"Yes that one." Ember laughed. They talked for most of the night until Bella stumbled over to her.

"Emm." Bella slurred. "I'm tired."

"Probably time for me to go." Ember said to Michael.

"Oh, well same here." Michael peered over at his friend who was struggling to keep on his feet.

"It was nice meeting you." Ember smiled as she climbed off the barstool.

"Same to you." Michael returned the smile as she stuck out a hand for him to shake once more. While they were exchanging handshakes, Michael slipped a piece of paper into her hand.

"This won't be the last time Ember." Michael said to her as he walked away. Ember smiled at the piece of paper in her hand as she walked out of the now significant bar, with Bella struggling to stand next to her.
