"Alright we're on our way to our last stop." Michael and Ember got back into Michael's car. He leaned over and planted a quick kiss onto her lips before he began driving. Ember smiled, she liked what Michael did for her this whole night. He usually wasn't into big elaborate things, and this was elaborate, it just didn't mean showing that to everyone else around him. Ember liked that.
"Alright I can stay awake for that long." Ember smiled as she pulled her legs up to her chest. Michael smiled gratefully at her.
"Just a heads up, the last stop of this is our apartment." Michael told her and Ember sat up straighter. She tried piecing more pieces to this puzzle together, and she knew that their apartment now was their first apartment. She reflected on everything else they did that night, and she realized all of them were firsts. First things they did in their relationship.
The only thing she didn't get now, was why he was doing this. She loved every second of it, but usually Michael didn't do something like this without a really good reason. Ember didn't ask because she wasn't sure Michael would give her a straight answer. They pulled up to the building where they lived, and Michael drove his car down to the garage beneath the place.
As they were walking to the room with the elevators in it, Ember took Michael's hand and intertwined their fingers.
"Michael, remember how we got this place?" Ember leaned her head on his shoulder, as Michael took his hand out of hers and wrapped his arm around her. Ember smiled contently as they walked into the elevator.
----flashback----
"So you're moving?" Michael asked as he walked into the small house which Ember occupied. Ember nodded placing a box next to the other ones.
"It's a really nice apartment, and it allows animals." Ember glanced behind her shoulder at Patches who was now about 12 weeks old. Michael and Ember had been going out for 1 year and 6 and a half months now. They both now knew that they counted half months.
By now, Michael and Ember had both been talking about moving in together. They both decided it would be good if they were both taking care of Patches, and Michael had knowledge of Luke's girlfriend moving in with him. Michael didn't want to be a bother. Ember knew this so she offered to let him move in with her when she got her new apartment.
"So have you thought about it yet?" Ember asked as she began carrying a box to her car. She had most of her furniture moved to the apartment yesterday. She just had to transport things like extra clothes and Patches care supplies. It was her last trip to the house now.
"Yeah, I think it would be the best idea. You know, even if it is a little early." Michael replied helping Ember put Patches into her carrier. They loaded her up in Embers car, and Michael hopped in the passenger side with Patches carrier in his lap. Ember drove off to the building.
When they got there Ember managed to get all of the extra boxes into to he elevator with her, Michael, and Patches. They road the elevator up to the third floor. Michael took Patches carrier and her supplies box while Enber took the two clothes boxes and a bag full of her makeup, hair, and bathroom supplies. Ember fumbled with the apartment key before managing to get it open. It was a small one bedroom apartment. Ember walked to the bedroom with her clothes boxes and placed them on the bottom of the closet.
"When are you thinking about moving in?" Ember asked as she began unpacking the box that had the sheets and blankets in it.
"As soon as I can." Michael replied as he began helping Ember tuck in the sheets corner. Michael left the bedroom and went to the living room area and opened up Patches carrier. There was only a couch and a TV. The only wall decorations were a few pictures of Ember and her family, and Michael found a frame on the side table.
It was the pictures they took when they visited a photo booth. Some of them looked odd, but Michael didn't mind. He smiled to himself and put it back on the table to see Patches jump up on the couch next to him. Ember walked out of the bedroom and began slipping her shoes on again.
"Where're you going?" Michael asked as he stroked Patches head.
"How much stuff do you need to move out of Luke's apartment?" Ember asked standing by the door.
"Just some clothes and a guitar and other random crap, why?" Michael began standing up, much to Patches protest.
"Well, the lets go." Ember grabbed her new apartment key. And her only apartment key. Michael quickly followed behind her.
"Wait, we're doing this now?" Michael asked as they walked down the hallway.
"Yes, you wanted to be moved out as soon as possible, and this is as soon as possible." Ember called the elevator.
"I need to notify Luke first!" Michael protested as they stepped into the elevator.
"You've got a phone don't you."
So the couple proceeded to go to Michael and Luke's apartment, and after a long explanation to Luke and some running around, they were headed back to Embers new apartment.
It was Embers turn to help Michael with two of his five boxes. They headed back up the elevator and down the hall to find Patches perched on the arm of the couch. When she saw them she began meowing loudly.
"Alright let's get everything unpacked now." Ember clapped her hands together. They spent until around 5 in the afternoon unpacking and they ended up ordering pizza for dinner.
After their pizza box was thrown away and Patches was fed, Ember and Michael ended up curled up on the couch together watching a movie. Ember had yet to set up a cable box and Internet.
"Ember, I love you." Michael said tightening his grip around her waist.
"I love you too." Ember smiled back. And they both meant it with everything they had.
