Final Year.

Melissa was such a happy person. That was only if the threat of Adelaide wasn't hanging over her. Anger as clear as day resonated off of her as she sent me off. A year of constant contact with Adelaide was hurting my brain and I wasn't having to do it. For me though Christmas was going to be difficult. My final year and still I would have to face it alone and with Madam Pomfrey breathing down my neck until my mind gave into her.

Not that any of it mattered during the eternity that was the sorting. Sure it had been so quick and full of nerves for me in my first year but over the years it was painfully the same. I only kept up as I wished for Professor Flitwick to fall again as the students all walked but that didn't seem to be happening. Not during my time as a student anyway and that left me feeling bored.

"You look thoroughly entertained." I sarcastically nodded at Tim and then his arm was placed around me. My head resting against his shoulder until the speaking stopped and I began to pick at the food on the plate before me. I ate a little bit and then stopped. Tim still had his arm around me as I didn't move away. He was normally talking and so I kept quiet. His friends being my main ones to open their mouths. That was until I felt a small tug on the ends of my hair for a split second. It hurt and I turned to see who it was but as I did so I saw a familiar face.

"Hello Flint." I almost squealed but stopped myself and stood up. My arms flying around the girl in front of me and her arms wrapped around me. I was still seeing her regularly but it was good to see her in school. There was something comforting about it. Like I was a first year again and nothing was wrong in my life. Before I had left Adela for good.

"Granger. What are you doing here?" I let out but her lips were in a content smile. Clearly she was happy about something and I wiped my face in case it was me or something on it.

"I need to have a meeting with Professor McGonagall and thought that I hadn't seen you in the longest time so I came by. Smiling and happy to see me. Professor Longbottom was telling me how miserable you were when coming up here. Not like you to frown." I laughed slightly and hugged her once again as quite a few eyes stuck to me and also Hermione. She was quite famous and fabulously amazing as a person.

"I hear that you have something to tell me as well." I challenged her and a smile claimed her lips as a hand was placed on her stomach for a second before she smiled up at me.

"You might have been married for a while but you will always be Granger to me." She put a hand on my shoulder before kissing my forehead and we waved goodbye. It was good to see her again but something felt right about being there. Professor Longbottom was a name that sounded familiar and it wasn't until I looked up that I saw who it was. Neville had started working at the school. Professor Bell was next to him and smiling. They knew each other well and clearly she was important to him. I also noted that one of my professors was gone. Professor Angus. Clearly, Neville was teaching muggle studies. Right?

I waited for the perfect time before leaving and Tim gave me a smile. He knew that I always left and yet never said anything to me about it. He was a sweet boy and a good friend. He would make someone very happy in the future. Either as a husband or just friends.

My room was a little colder but the seasons seemed to be becoming more desperate as the years made the school colder. The freezing temperatures forced me into wearing a jumper over my top and then my legs were covered in tights pyjama bottoms. They were all black but my jumper was red and my socks were red.

I went to leave for my usual place and thought about how many detentions I must have had because of the same walk and then Madam Pomfrey appeared in my mind and I walked in that direction. My feet had no shoes on as I had hopes of just getting back to my room after posting my written letter. It had been one I wrote on the train ride up.
