Nights Gone By.

My hands were furiously moving through all of my clothes, books were placed aside and so were all of the shirts that I had packed. For the first time ever I would spend my holidays in the same place that I had the year before and it was permanent. I was in a stable home with someone that loved me but I also had the chance to go on a holiday. Melissa was only the best person in the world already and then she tells me about a surprise holiday.

"I can't find my quills." As I said this and turned all the way around a box was placed near me and I was only just able to grab it before Elliot moved it away from me. I gave a playful glare and then placed my things back in. Zipping up my case and then sitting on the bed to see Tim and Elliot smiling at me.

"You are such a stress head. All year you have been a total worrier. Exams are tough but you are smarter than even us Ravenclaws and that includes Mike. I'm also proud to say that you are better than Tim here." I stood up and hugged them both. Their heads were touching and my arms were all the way around both of them.

With that, I picked up my things and walked back to the door. A kiss on Tim's cheek and one on Elliot's lips before I walked between them and then into the front room until I got to the hall. My things being left on the sofa and then my hands were held by the boys.

For the reminder of the journey, Tim and Elliot were at my side. Apollo had managed to find us.
"You and Isaac are normally inseparable, what is the issue?" I asked lightly once we climbed into the small carriage.

"He still feels bad. I told him that I had barely seen you since Emily stopped talking to you so I was off to see you. Apparently, he is pissed at Emily as well so it is tough to know where he would be." It wasn't fair, the pair had been so close, both Isaac and Emily as well as Isaac and Apollo.

"He shouldn't feel bad, he didn't do anything and I do know that. Also, I love Isaac. I wish that I could see him more as well." As soon as I had spoken Elliot and Apollo got to their feet, leaving me with Tim but I wasn't fazed as I knew Tim so well.

Barely any time later Isaac followed into the room with Elliot and Apollo. I hugged him tightly and let a kiss fall onto his cheek before finally, I sat again with Elliot. Isaac was tense at first but then slowly he was calmed and relaxed. We spoke so freely and my cheeks hurt from my smile.

Eventually, the train stopped and we reached our stop and then the hugs began again as well as the tears of goodbye until the happy welcomes were sent to us. Melissa had made it through and I ran to her with open arms and we hugged. It was at this point that I noticed Melissa not being alone. It was Matt and then I hugged him also. A small baby was in his arms, not that small really, and also a little boy was stood between the two adults.

"Hello, darling. I am your aunt." He smiled and gave a wave but he was clearly unsure of me as he gave a tighter hold onto Matt. The little girl was blabbering about something and nothing as this happened and I shook her hand, making her laugh at me.

We all headed home like a family and spent three whole weeks together. The little ones left us for two of the days but I got to know them and we played like I had been in their lives the whole time. When it came to getting my school supplies Hermione kept to the usual rules and I thanked her for it as I was able to go on my holiday with my family.

"Iona, I am not about to take you on holiday with you being ill. You will go to the doctor and if they see a reason to be concerned then you will receive any of the treatment that they provide. No if, ands or buts. Do you understand me?" I went to argue with her but she made a loud grunting noise that kept me silent and I nodded.

"Yes, mum." I was clearly teasing her but she was for all intents and purposes, my mother. She lived with me and supported me. She fed me and loved me, all that a mother should and mine would hopefully have done. Though, judging by Hermione's words she had other opinions on my family and the way they acted.

"All right, now you can walk down to the doctors nearby and book an appointment, you may be able to get into the books before the day is over. I also see no reason to hold anything back from your school as they will be there for you and magic is better at some things and if it is bad then magic might be able to resolve it. Now, go. Your medical papers are in the cabinet over there, I will be checking on them and I will check that you put them back. On you go." She was a stubborn one and I couldn't see a reason to disagree with her and so the papers were collected and I walked out of the house. My coat was pulled into a closed position as the rain dropped heavily.

Eventually, I managed to get down to the new place just around the corner. People sat waiting, bored faces met me and I smiled slightly into the room before finally, I saw the desk and I stood at the sign post that told me to wait. Eventually, the three at the desk had finished but it was all at the same time so I just walked up to the one in the centre.

"Could I book an appointment, please? The name is Iona, I don't know the recoded name here, it should be Austen but it may be Flint." The woman looked through the folders and clicked on the large boxes that I had known to be a computer before she gave a smile and found me.

"Can I asked what it is for?" I smiled and shook my head and she gestured with her hand to the side and I waited. The people all around seemed to be up to nothing and I was just like all of them until slowly they all left and others entered. I had to of been up soon. She had never actually given me the name of the doctor or my time.

"Miss Flint?" I stood and walked up to the man who had called me and then followed as he walked up the steps of the building that seemed to look older the further it was walked into. Soon a door with the odd name of 'Dr Micheals' was written on it and we both entered, a woman was sat there as well.

"Sorry, we have to keep another set of eyes in here just in case. You are young and in the system but she can leave now if you want." I didn't like prying eyes so I nodded and she stood up, leaving me with the largest smile a human could have.
"Right, I don't have any notes. What is the problem?" He was so kind and gentle that I felt like I could trust him on anything. He also had to be very smart to be a doctor.

"I have been struggling with stomach aches, bad and it doesn't go away. I have flu-like symptoms and keep losing weight. It's really bad." He nodded and asked some personal questions before I found myself on the bed before me. His hands ran across my stomach and then dug in. A few sounds escaped my lips but on the whole, I kept it together as he managed to find the painful places on my abdomen.

"Could you be pregnant?" I shook my head and then tensed as he pushed in on another point that hurt me more than all of the other points had in total. "That is everything. Thank you and if you could just pull your top back down." I did that and sat in the chair again and answered questions, talked about my past health some more.

"I don't attend school close by. Scotland actually, so I won't be able to wait long. I'm away next week as well. Flying to Spain." He bit his lip and shook his head at me.

"I don't feel comfortable with you going away next week. This might get worse especially with the pressure changes and similar issues. Sorry but I am not willing to allow you to go. I will write to your house and make sure that you do not go." I felt my shoulders slump, every good thing comes to an end and that seemed to include my holidays, life wasn't the worst but it wasn't far off.
