A blanket of snow ran along the ground but the only living thing that I could see was a bird flying into the trees. The early time left me alone and silence was surrounding me, not that it would last for long as I was sure that the waking students would ruin all of the perfect snow, the quiet that I had found and even obstruct my view. Only, I was wrong. It wasn't the students. No, that was Madam Pomfrey.

"Madam Pomfrey?" I stood up quickly and saw that she was angry and I blushed. My hands wiping the length of my skirt and harsh eyes met me.

"Put your robes on, it is too cold for you to be out here in a skirt and your shirt, granted you do have a set of tights on but that isn't enough. Now, breakfast has been over for a while and the first period is due to start. Take this now child." I took the food and ate it before taking the cup and quickly swallowed the tablets down with the water that she had also kindly brought for me.

"I'm sorry Madam Pomfrey." She rolled her eyes and pointed to my robes that I pulled on and smiled at her kindly. I didn't have a tie to wear so my clothes were never quite complete but that was part of my charm. Not belonging to a house.

Soon I moved to my first lesson and then I moved through the day. I felt bad for Emily, Leah, and Elliot but I did nothing wrong. As soon as it all came out, the secret just 'slipped' from Apollo and suddenly the whole school looked down on them. The other girls who had laughed at me weren't exactly liked either but they didn't have it as bad as some.

When dinner was five minutes from passing I found myself in the halls, my stomach was growling and for the millionth time I wished that I didn't have to see Madam Pomfrey, receive the usual lecture or be subject to horrendous tablets that left a less than pleasant taste in the mouth.

"Good evening, Iona." I smiled at the person who had spoken but didn't pay much if any attention as I was trying to conjure up an excuse as to why I never ate before taking my tablets or why the poor woman was left to fuss over me for the entire year. It wasn't fair on her but I wasn't one to remember and that had been the first time I remembered my tablets without her in my ear half an hour before, even then I forgot most of the time.

I pushed open the door and almost fell in horror at the sight. Blood drenched the bed and it seemed to be coming out still. My eyes widened as soon as the other parts of the body were seen and I just stood, as still as I could in the middle of some horror scene that was happening in my school. Nothing was said but I did hear spells being muttered and a wand was barely seen. After a few more moments the blood seemed to stop and the body relaxed. That was when I saw who it was. Max. A kind but quiet Gryffindor in her first year and I was baffled at how she could have done so much damage to herself and put the fear of all into Madam Pomfrey's eyes and the eyes of all the other professors that stood in the room with her, watching on. Horror covering their faces. Dinner must have had a low attendance as most of the staff stood in there.

"Miss Flint, I see you are on time. I will be a moment so take a seat." I sat at her desk and watched closely as an eye stuck to the body on the bed. Madam Pomfrey had calmed drastically and the others in the room hit a quiet streak before muttering was heard from them all.

"Sorry to be a bother," I murmured as the witch then retreated back into the room for my tablets. She also learnt to bring food with her as I never ate and it did cause a problem between us because her time was wasted and my body had to be cared for.

"Don't be silly, this is my job. Now, swallow this down and be gone." She hadn't brought food with her and I knew better than to question so I went to take them but as I did so she stopped me.

"What's wrong?" She grunted out and walked off to the room again with a hint of attitude in her step but I didn't mind as she was a lovely woman who would save the world given the chance. That was proven by her attitude towards me.
