"Are you sure you're ready for this, son?" George asked with crossed arms and Alexander nodded "And are you absolutely sure you don't want any financial help? You know, the business is not that bad"

"Surer than I've ever been in my life. I saved enough for both of us to start up" Alex assured his foster father with a huge grin as Martha couldn't contain it anymore and started to tear up "Aw, Martha..."

"I'm sorry, Alex" The older woman giggled "It's just... My little boy is a man now" Alexander chuckled in her embarrassing speech and she narrowed her eyes before fixing his tie "A man that doesn't know how to fix a simple tie! George, I thought you have taught him!"

"And I did! It's not my fault he does it in a rush every single time" George chuckled and Martha stepped back, biting her lip as she analyzed her work.

"There. Now here is my handsome boy"

"Ok guys, enough of wasting time! I gotta go" Alex said aching to run out those doors with his bag in hand already.

"Good luck!" George said as Alex passed by them.

"And don't forget your manners! You remember what happened the last time!"

Alex's blood froze for a second with the thought but brushed it away as he hopped into the carriage.

...

Horses and a moving carriage were heard outside and Eliza already knew who it was. She couldn't contain her smile when ran to check on her window and followed with the eyes as her beloved stepped out of the carriage, her heart skipping a beat when he waved and blew a kiss to her. She blushed and rushed to grab her bags. She didn't need much. She didn't want much. All she wanted was a life with him.

When the front door was open, Philip Schuyler stood stone-faced as he stared at the nervous man that just walked in his house.

"This is a mistake" He stated coldly.

"Sir, I know I don't come from much" Alex said controlling his temper of starting a discussion. He wanted this day to be perfect "But I will take care of your daughter and I will give her a life as grand as this one"

Philip stepped closer and Alexander's confident grin flicker slightly "She'll be back. Sooner or later she will get sick of your life of having nothing and come running back home"

Someone cleared their throat behind him and Philip turned around to look while Alexander's smile only grew at the sight of his lovely Elizabeth.

"Goodbye, father" Eliza said seriously, giving him a nod, before walking past him and Alex grabbed one of her bags, then holding her free hand and making her smile again. They ran outside and put the bags inside the carriage before hopping in, giggling like kids after so many years, and the horses started to trot away from the Schuyler mansion as the couple's giggles faded as they started into each other's eyes.

"I love you so much that you have absolutely no idea, Betsy..." Alex stated, intertwining their fingers and Eliza smiled softly again, looking at both their rings against each other. She leaned towards him and kissed his lips. He kissed her back and after a while, they separate, both grinning so much due to their happiness.

She pecked his lips again before whispering "I love you too, Alexander"

...

Alexander sighed as he walked in their small apartment holding his box full with his office stuff. He got fired again. Not that he liked that job, or the boss, or the coworkers, or the environment, or even the whole concept of office and robotic work; but he needed that job. And once again he blew it away.
