Attractions and Soldiers (Hamilton Circus!AU)

Rose's first day

Three days passed by until Rose managed to stand up on her own finally. Her appearance looked much healthier and the blush returned to her face, replacing the old pale tone that haunted anyone who looked at her when she came in. James took her to a tour through the place and Rose was amazed by everything backstage.

"Oh my gosh is this for real?" She said slightly scared looking up at a huge tank with piranhas.

"Oh, yes! We have a guy who does escapism tricks and he wanted to try this out... I'm not very sure if it's safe enough but what can I do?"

"Not much I assume" Rose chuckled and kept on following him when they heard people laughing somewhere near.

"I don't think you've formally met the rest of the crew yet, right?" James asked and Rose shook her head "Well let's go then" He motioned with his head before taking Rose to the stage where some people were practicing a few performances.

A buffy man was sitting in a suspended arc while talking to a tattooed guy with the arms folded on the ground and they both laughed.

"Guys, this is my friend Rose" James said in his usual serious tone and the men changed their attention to her.

"Like we haven't heard of her already, right James?" The guy sitting down joked and they giggled "I'm Hercules!" He introduced himself sticking his hand and Rose shook it with a tiny smile.

"And Je suis amoureux- Raymond!" Raymond blushed a bit but the rest didn't understand the reason why.

"It's nice to meet both of you" Rose replied and looked away, embarrassed by not knowing how to keep the conversation going "So... You do those acrobatic things?" She said directing to Hercules.

"Oh yea! I and my sister are partners, that is- Where's Peggy?" He looked around only now noticing the girl wasn't there with them but then shrugged "Eh, she's gonna appear soon"

"And you..." Rose pouted, looking at Raymond "Uhm... What's your act?"

"Well, I am the tattooed man" He said opening his arms and chuckling.

"Just that?" She said honestly disappointed because wanted to see what his actual talent would be.

"Yeaah" He said embarrassed "But what about you, mademoiselle Rose?"

"Me?"

"Yea, everyone here has an act. Even if just to be a "stare at the freak"" He chuckled but Rose saw the sadness in his eyes with that sentence "So, what can you do?"

"Uhm..." "Illicit things for sure aren't things that people use to put in this kind of show", she thought "I don't know"

"Can you still do those moves you used to do when we were kids?" James asked and Rose seemed to light up.

"Oh, true!"

"What kind of moves?" Hercules asked cocking an eyebrow.

Rose walked forward a bit and then did a double cartwheel right away and then falling into a bridge position, earning a "WOW!" from the men behind her. She breathed in before sliding her up half body under the bridge the rest of her body formed and she rested her head in her left hand in between her feet.

The boys whistled and applauded, making her giggle a bit before returning all the way up, planting her feet on the ground and raising up her body.

"WOW! YOU WERE AMAZING, ROSE! I've never seen a human being able to do that!" Raymond said in absolute glee and the woman blushed.

"That was incredible! Is it possible you have no bones??!" Hercules shouted and grabbed her arm, pocking it to be sure his theory was right.

"I do have bones" Rose laughed, pushing her arm back softly "I just do this kind of stuff since I was little and never stopped practicing, so my body may have got this flexible because of it?"

"You're totally in!" They heard another voice shout and turned around. Alexander walked towards them with a huge grin on his face and carrying a bucket full of water "You're just perfect! How you didn't tell me you had this talent before?! I need you in the show!"

Rose froze in fear. "I can't do that. Even if I wanted to I couldn't! If Jack ever gets to see me on stage... Although, he never had time to lose in relaxing or fun activities, much less somewhere as crowded as the circus, and no other of his men had seen my face; they only have Reynolds' description... If I managed to use a disguise maybe that could work... No. No, no, no Maria that is a crazy idea"

"I really appreciate your offer but-"

"If you don't I can't keep you here"

"Alex!" The rest of the men said outraged.

"What?!"

"Ok ok, uhm... I will... I will think about it" She responded and Alexander cheered before walking away to solve some problem.

"Do you really want to do that?" James asked looking deeply into her eyes, acknowledging how dangerous it was.

"I need to think about it first" She said giving him a look to them talk later.

"Anyone is gonna talk about the bucket?" Raymond pointed out right before they heard a loud scream from backstage.

"GAH! OK, SORRY I OVERSLEPT! I WON'T DO THAT AGAIN! STOP IT, ALEX!"

"Aand meet my graceful sister now, Rose" Hercules tried to suppress a laugh but couldn't hold it any longer after a girl ran to the stage completely wet with Alexander right after her while he held the now empty bucket with a hand while the other held his belly that hurt from laughing.

"WHY DIDN'T YOU WAKE ME UP?!" She screamed at Hercules' face as he kept on laughing, as well as everyone else.

"Y-You didn't wa-wake up when I tried" He tried to speak while he still laughed.

When Rose took a good look at the girl's face it took the breath out of her lungs. She was- "Oh, I'm Peggy by the way" Peggy gave Rose a welcoming smile.

"H-Hi" Rose said frozen in place, still staring. Peggy looked to Hercules with an awkward expression because of that and he returned with a shrug "Uhm... Peggy, may I ask if you ever had a sister?"

"Uhm, no. No, I hadn't. Why?" She asked clearly confused.

Rose took a deep breath before saying "Because I highly believe we can be sisters"

Peggy laughed at her statement as the boys looked at each other in confusion "What?" She wheezed

"I-I am serious" Rose stammered a bit and Peggy stopped laughing

"No you're not, how would we supposed to be related?"

"I, ahm..." Rose looked down at her feet "A long time ago my father was yelling at me and said that he had chosen wrong, and when I asked about it to my mom she told me that she had two daughters but they were too poor to take care of two babies and so they gave one to a couple who couldn't have their own..."

Rose looked up and saw Peggy held no expression. Hercules touched her shoulder and murmured "Pegs, are you alright?"

"I think I just need some air" She said before walking outside.

Rose covered her face with her hands "I shouldn't have said anything, I should have-"

"But are you really sure she is your sister?" James asked, interrupting her guilty session.

"How could she not be?" Raymond answered "I mean, they are each other's copies, it's clear they are twins"

"And being so, I am now your big brother as well!" Hercules shouted pointing to his chest as he hugged her side.

"A little bit less, Herc, please" James embarrassedly said.
