You have yellow eyes. Sorry, but I'm not giving you a choice on this one.
Whoever coined the phrase, 'Every day is just another adventure,' obviously doesn't have a shred of common sense... I mean, that's a saying that is meant to be hopeful, yet when you live that reality, it just is another reminder that each day you're going to end up with another set of people trying to bring you to court for trespassing.
Specific? Yeah, sure. But it's not like you could deny it.
As the youngest, or more appropriately worded, only adopted child of the Iida family, you had a reputation to uphold. They were all heroes, your oldest brother, Tensei, was already a hero who was rising through the ranks, and your younger brother Tenya (Who you insisted was 'older' than you because he was born several months before you were adopted) was on a fast track to being a hero one day soon.
You, on the other hand, only managed to stay out of jail because your quirk was more of an involuntary reaction than anything else.
Oh, the joys of being the black sheep child.
To be fair, other than your regular jaunts down to the police station you didn't stick out that badly in the Iida family. You were intelligent and a major nerd in many ways, so you could hold your own against Tensei's and Tenya's rants. Mom and Dad never made you feel like an outsider, but that wasn't all that important.
You would have given anything to have a speed quirk like the Iida's were known for, or even just to be quirkless, but no... You had a quirk that teleported you whenever you sneezed.
And to make this whole situation even better? You were what your family fondly referred to as a 'sun sneezer.' No, that does not mean anything cool like sneezing out fire, it meant that every time you walked outside, you immediately sneezed at least twice, sending you into the neighbor's pool for a second before you were whisked off to the nearest major highway.
So yeah, perhaps viewing every day as another adventure was a bit too close to home.
Your quirk was what caused you to be homeschooled for most of your education... Apparently most public schools weren't fond of you, or at least the walking lawsuit you represented. You stayed inside a majority of the time, watching anime or studying. At least once a day, you would be railroaded into exercising with one of your family members, so you kept in shape for the most part.
Who knew your life would change so drastically?
For the most part, life had been normal, Tenya was starting high school and you had already graduated from an online high school, so your lives seemed normal enough a week after UA started again.
"(Y/N)!" A demanding yell echoed up the stairs, making you groan slightly as you paused the tv show you were watching. This was a regular enough occurrence that you knew your whole day was about to be commandeered by one of your family members.
Couldn't they just let you be lazy for once? Geez, it's like they cared about your mental wellbeing or something.
"What?!" You yelled back, completely unmotivated to get out of your chair.
A series of footsteps on the stairs had you groaning even further. Out of your whole family, you were the only one who enjoyed being lazy, inaction drove everyone else nuts.
Tensei burst in your room with enough vigor to shake the walls as he stood there, smiling proudly at you, which only served to make you suspicious. Tensei looking proud meant trouble for you, without fail. Five years ago he did the same thing, and where did you end up?
That's right, you ended up at the bottom of a well with heroes trying to get you out for five hours.
You had every right to be suspicious in this situation.
No matter how innocent Tensei seemed, you refused to believe him, so instead, you leveled a glare at him with the hopes of conveying just how unwilling you were to deal with his hairbrained scheme...
The longer you both stood there, the more Tensei seemed to lose steam, wilting under your fierce glare, "What?" This was all you asked, and it seemed to be enough, ever the positive hero, your brother bounced back.
"Well, I figured since Tenya is back in school and you have nothing productive to do, you could join me on patrol today!" He was so excited... It's like he thought that was a good idea.
You fidgeted awkwardly in your seat at that, "Tensei... You do realize that I don't have a hero license, nor do I want one... Right?" You knew he was trying to get you out of the house, but he had to see the flaws in this plan, didn't he? As a whole, you were a logical, analytical family, so he had to understand the consequences of his actions.
Instead of backing off at your question, his grin grew wider and he shook his head, "Not to worry, (Y/N)! I've talked it over with my agency and they're fine with it, so long as you don't attempt to do anything that could get you in trouble."
Okay, well at least someone was optimistic about your chances to stay out of trouble, "You do realize who you're talking to, right?" You asked hesitantly knowing he would understand your question.
It's not like you wanted to be a trouble maker, but your quirk had a habit of turning you into one. Occasionally the jumps would be benign, a shift to a local fast food restaurant where you had been thinking about applying to earlier in the day, or the local supermarket when you sneezed after realizing that you were out of eggs.
However, the jumps never stayed benign for long. Simply thinking about fish before you jumped could either send you to the local aquarium, or to the bottom of a lake. Thinking about earning money could send you to a place where you could apply for a job or to the inside of a bank vault...
Because, you know, your quirk really wanted you to become a felon.
And you thought popping in on your second-grade teacher while he was showering had been a mess...
Back to the present moment, Tensei was staring at you sheepishly as he nodded, "I realize that, but you can't stay inside all day. You can only put off sneezing so much. It would be far more logical for you to learn how to control your quirk through constant use and struggling against it."
He really was ever the optimist but you loved him for it. Your family did nothing but try to support you through everything, you really couldn't fault them that their attempts to help you live a normal life.
With a sigh you stood and popped your back, causing a rippling pop to echo through the room that had you both wincing.
"I know you know how bad that is for your joints, (Y/N). Why do you still do it?"
He was utterly appalled, which only made you grin, "Because it feels good brother. Now, if your agency said you could bring along your walking lawsuit, then it would be rude of me to refuse." Your sarcastic smirk had him grinning, even as he followed you out of your room, nagging at you for using your self-appointed nickname.
You were an odd family to be sure, but how could he not love you? You were the glue to their family, which he appreciated more than you would ever know.
