"I cannot believe it took 3 hours to formalize a guest list!" Jess exclaims once we're finally done.
"Honestly I thought it would have taken longer," I tell her.
"Well it makes sense since Hailey had to check it and then you called your parents to check it and you added and removed people," Josh says.
"Yeah...I guess so. So now that that's done what do we do now?" Jess asks and I can see that she's hoping we're done.
I pick up the checklist I've made for today and see that there are still a few things I need to make sure of with both Jess and Ashton. "Okay first things first, are children allowed at your wedding?" I ask.
"Of course! What are their parents going to do with them if they can't come?" Jess asks.
"Okay...so then does each family get an invitation? Or each person?" I ask and Jess looks to Ashton for an answer.
"I would think one per family would be the better option and considering you're making them it would save time," Ashton says. "We don't want to have to make too many invitations."
"Yeah...I mean what are my aunt and uncle going to do with separate invitations?" Jess comments.
"Okay...now you guys have to tell me how many invitations we need to make," I tell them and they groan before picking up the list.
"You are having way too much fun with this," Josh tells me, noticing Jess and Ashton's reactions.
"So what if I like bossing Jess around. She did it to me all the time in high school. And it is for a good cause," I say trying to justify why I enjoy bossing her around so much.
"Okay fine. But still...look at her," he tells me and I have to stifle my laugh when I see the look she's giving the guest list. I guess I'd be the list the same look if I'd been busy with it all say.
After about 10 minutes they come back to me with a number. They need about 80 invitations. "So how many people are you expecting?" I ask.
"Round about 140," Ashton answers.
"Just make sure there's less than 175. The venue allows up to 175 guests," I say remembering what the woman I spoke to me told me earlier.
"Of course. We really don't want a huge wedding," Jess tells me.
"Well since you guys worked so hard I'm gonna let you guys have a break. I'm just gonna go out and buy the envelopes so that I can go drop it off and Savannah's tomorrow," I tell her.
"Savannah?" Ashton asks.
"Oh she's just a friend from college who knows how to do calligraphy. I'm going to go buy envelopes and when I get back you guys need to start checking the spelling on each name and by 10 o' clock tomorrow I want a list of each person or family that is going to be receiving and invitation," I tell them.
"Hailey you're scary when you're like this," Jess tells me and I just shrug before turning around to leave.
When I get to the door I realize someone's following me and I turn around to see Josh. "I'm going with you. I'm not going to sit around and watch them make out for the next hour," he tells me and I let him come with me because I wouldn't want to do that either.
"We're going to this stationary shop down the road so we don't need a cab," I tell him.
"Okay. And what are we getting?" he wants to know.
"About 100 peach envelopes."
"That all?"
"Probably. Unless I see beautiful peach cardboard and ribbon for the actual invitations."
