I wake up to hear Jess moving around the kitchen really loudly. Either she's mad at someone or she's trying to wake me up.
"We are doing something today. Something that has nothing to do with any wedding planning because I swear it's been forever since the 2 of us did something together," Jess tells me when I walk into the kitchen.
"Okay," I answer before yawning.
I look at Jess who's already showered and dressed sipping on a cup of coffee. I will never understand how making a single cup of coffee could make that much noise.
"You could sound a slight bit more excited you know," she says.
"Fine sorry. I am so excited to be spending this lovely Sunday with my best friend Jessica."
"That's better. Now go get done. I'm starving and we're going for breakfast," she tells me.
"Aye aye captain," I reply and she chuckles as I walk away.
An hour later we're sitting at some cafe, that Ashton always takes her to, waiting for our breakfast.
"So it's been all about me for the past couple of weeks. Let's talk about you," Jess tells me before taking a sip of her coffee.
"No no. It's fine. Your life is more exciting."
"Come on tell me. What's new?"
"All I've really been doing is the wedding planning stuff, which I happen to really enjoy," I tell her honestly and she sighs.
"Fine then give me an hour by hour description of your day yesterday because I didn't see you at all, which is really strange considering we live together," she says.
"You stayed over at Ashton's which would explain why we didn't see each other yesterday."
"I'm waiting," she says referring to my description of my day.
"Fine. I woke up at about 10 and had muesli for breakfast. After breakfast I got ready and at about 12 I had a chicken salad for lunch, which I made myself. After lunch I headed over to visit Crystal and spent most of the afternoon with her, catching up. She told me all about what happened with all the guys she dated and gave me cakes and cupcakes while doing so which was great. Afterwards I went over to Josh's to drop of these chocolate cupcakes and we ended up having dinner which basically meant he ordered in because he can not cook, and even if he could there was next to nothing in his cupboard or fridge. I advised him to go grocery shopping because it really is a problem. I left and got home at 10 and fell asleep in my lovely soft bed. The end."
"You saw Josh again?" she asks.
"Why is that the only thing you comment on?"
"Because it's the only thing worth commenting on."
"It is not. Don't you want to know what Crystal and I talked about? Besides her unsuccessful relationships," I ask.
"No. All you two ever do is talk about life and get all emotional."
"We do not."
"Oh really?" she asks with a raised eyebrow.
"Okay so maybe we do but you never talk about any of that."
"Why do I need to? I know what I want out of life."
"You didn't always know what you wanted. Before Ashton you were just a lonely accountant who had cocktail Friday every week with her equally as lonely author best friend."
"Well clearly we're both not lonely anymore. I mean I'm getting married and you've been reunited with your husband," she says before sending me a smug look.
