"Wow, you look gorgeous as always." James grins at her.
He's in front of her door, picking her up for the dinner, which he is extremely nervous about.
Sabrina smiles back at him, which, combined with the way she looks tonight, and the smile that he loves so much, those two things combined made him die of happiness inside.
Sabrina didn't want to wear anything too revealing or sexy, since this is a family dinner, so she settled on a family appropriate dress. She still looked beautiful to James, as she always did. But tonight she wanted to impress his family. She had only met his parents briefly, and wants to set a good impression.
The same goes for James. He wants Sabrina's family to feel that he is right for her. He too had only met her parents briefly, and wanted aswell to set a good impression. He decides to wear a casual but nice tux.
Everyone was supposed to be coming that was coming, except for Cayla, Sabrina's half sister, who had a prior engagement. On Sabrina's side, there is Sabrina, (obviously) her parents, and Sarah, and Shannon. On James' side, there is James, (obviously) his parents, and Hannah, and Hayley.
James is only picking up Sabrina, as the rest were coming later. He wants to take Sabrina around for awhile to talk about life and stuff, and he has something planned for later that night. A simple star watching night, simple, yet romantic.
James extends his hand for Sabrina to take in hers, which she does, and leads her to his car, opening the door for her. Once she gets in, he closes it and gets in on his side.
He sits there and turns his head towards her, a smile spreads across his face, which makes Sabrina smile too. He slowly leans in and presses his lips against hers.
That feeling of love and admiration washes over Sabrina, and she can't help but think of how amazing he is. These feelings showed up in Sabrina's head every single time they kissed, and Sabrina knew that he was it for her. And the feeling is mutual.
Some may say this was just puppy love that was talking, but Sabrina and James both knew what they felt, and that nothing would tear them apart.
In the words of Sabrina's old song that she recorded when she was basically a fetus, called Two Young Hearts, "Maybe in another lifetime, maybe when we're older, at least we know that we've already made up our minds, and yes I know what love is. Cause we are, two old souls, and two young hearts, we can run, I will follow you till the end of the end where we can be together, they can never tear us apart."Although that song was for when she was younger, it still applies now in some ways. They were both young, Sabrina only being 20 and James 21, and the song is about people thinking that just cause you're young, you don't know what love is. But Sabrina knew that she does love James, and James loves her, it was no mystery to them what love is, but yet society is telling them that because of their age, they weren't ready for it. And yes, there are some people that do get married at the tender age of 20, and no Sabrina did not want to get married right now, but only because SHE feels she is not ready, not SOCIETY telling her it was wrong, because she knew she could do it if she wanted to, but it is HERSELF telling her not to. She knew she would marry him though, James, the love of her life. James felt that he wasn't ready either, but someday he wants to get down on one knee and spend the rest of his life with her, but not now. Maybe in a few years.
In the moments Sabrina and James were coincidently both thinking about it, James had started the car and is now driving.
"I'm nervous, are you?" James asks her nervously. James does what he always does when he's nervous and grabs Sabrina's hands. Just like when he was meeting her dad for the first time, his hands were all over hers. Sabrina smiles, she likes seeing James nervous, not to laugh at him or anything, but to see his vulnerability. It was nice to see him like this.
"I'm a little nervous. I want to impress your family." Sabrina says.
James raises his eyebrows. He couldn't imagine anyone not being impressed by Sabrina, not just because of her talents, but the amazing personality that she has.
"They will love you! I know my sisters already do, and my parents will too." James says.
Sabrina smiles, he always knew how to calm her down.
"Anyways, it's me we should be worried about, I'll probably fuck everything up." He laughs.
Sabrina shakes her head vividly. "Are you kidding me!" She exclaims. "I can't imagine anyone not loving you. My parents always say, if they are a good person, then that's good enough."
James sighs and brings Sabrina's hand up to his lips and kisses it. Sabrina leans over and rests her head on James' shoulder. She places her hand on his leg, rubbing from side to side, her fingers creeping towards the inside of his thigh, this made James feel warm and giddy inside. He smiles to himself, the feeling of Sabrina's touch on his leg, with his pants in the way.
"Why do older adults think that us young adults know less then them." Sabrina says, more like a statement then a question.
"I don't know, maybe it's cause they think they know more than us."
"But do they though?" Sabrina sighs. "Take love, for example. They think we don't know what love is just because we're young. But once you fall in love, then you know what it is. I know that I love you, and I know this because I've never loved anyone as much as I love you. That wouldn't be any different then if I was 50."
James sat there, driving, listening to Sabrina's soothing voice. Her fascinating words coming from her mind and going into his.
"I know I love you too. Maybe they are scared that they could never feel that way when they were our age. Or maybe they did feel that way, but regretted it and made a mistake by marrying the person that wasn't right for them, so they're trying to 'help' us by saying that you can't love when you're young."
Sabrina nods. It was rare that she agreed with someone 100% on a topic, and yet she did with James.
