Reiss is the true royal family.

"Oi, brat, you should get some sleep," Levi grunts, sitting down beside me on the bed, leaning forward on his elbows in exhaustion. Still, he looks sexy in his navy blue slacks and white button up shirt, the upper buttons undone.

"I'm still mulling over the bombshell dropped by Sannes. Historia is a princess." I groan, laying backwards. "It just keeps getting more complicated. Whoever is writing our story can stop with the plot twists."

"You're so fucking dramatic," he sighs, leaning back as well, his hand finding mine. I bite my lip, hiding a grin. Sappy will never be Levi but I don't mind.

"Levi?" His eyes are closed but he grunts so I continue. "Who was that guy in the bar? He knew you."

He sighs long and drawn, his eyes opening and focusing on me. "That, was Kenny the Ripper."

"Who?" I ask.

"Fuck, Erwin really sheltered you, didn't he?" He sits up, looking over at me. "Do you know what the Underground is?" I nod, starting to get insulted. "He's a prominent criminal from there."

"That still doesn't explain how you know him. You aren't from there." Levi looks away, his bangs falling in front of his features. "Are you?"

"Yeah, I am, Eliora. I was born there." He's starting to look agitated, his hands clenching. I sit up, my palms going to his in an attempt to comfort him. He visibly relaxes immediately. "My mother was a prostitute there. My father was client. I never knew him."

"Is that why you got so upset about the tea? I know it's used for prostitutes a lot."

He nods. "It's not my fucking choice though."

I grin, pecking him on the lips. "It's neither of our choices now. I ripped up the page, remember? It'll be fate at this point." My hand brushes his hair back when he gives a half-smile that doesn't reach his eyes. "What happened to your mother, Levi?"

"She died. She got sick."

"That's why you're so strict about being clean," I murmur.

"No...fuck, I don't know really. I'm telling you way more than I wanted to."

"I am your wife." I grin, knocking my knee into his slightly in a teasing way. "I'm still waiting for the reason for why you hold your teacup like a psycho."

He raises an eyebrow. "Handles are unreliable. It only took me once to realize that."

My arms wrap around his built frame, squeezing him. "Your childhood was shit, Levi. You couldn't even trust your dishware."

"Oi, get off me."

I release him. "Only because I want to know the rest about Kenny. How did you meet him?"

"He came to visit my mother, but she was already dead. I was almost dead myself, hunched in the corner, almost completely starved. He fed me, taught me to fight and survive, then left me when I was older."

"That's awful, Levi," I say, placing a hand onto his arm.

"You know what's worse?" he asks, staring into my eyes with his haunting grey eyes. "I think he's my father."

I pull him into another hug at the vulnerability, and he lets me this time. Eventually, we collapse backwards onto the bed, falling asleep in each others embrace.

"Oi, brat, come on," a voice grumbles to me, and I feel material slip over my head. My eyes open and there's a faint light coming from an oil lamp. "You're shivering," he says, smoothing down my sweater he helped put on me. "We need to get moving though." I'm thankful he didn't force me into a skirt. Mikasa and Sasha both had them on and I was sure I'd die with the garment on.
