A few days after the ominous message from Aquamarine and Carnelian, I receive a letter in the mail. The contents are not at all what I'd want to read

Dear Serena DeMayo,

We regret to inform you that Andy DeMayo has passed away from mysterious circumstances. We are currently conducting an investigation to determine what caused this. However we have come across a will which is attached to this letter. We give you our condolences

"This couldn't be happening. It has to be a dream" I think to myself as I try everything I can to wake myself up. Yet, they fail, as this is reality. I feel a tear forming in my eye and travelling down my cheek and falling onto the letter I was reading. Soon more and more tears started forming. Why? Why did this have to happen? I feel so lost, so destroyed. At this moment, Steven and Uncle Greg happen to walk in. They immediately take notice of the tears in my eyes and rush over to ask if I'm okay. I show them the letter. Uncle Greg takes the letter to study it further (particularly the will). Steven stays with me. "I'm very sorry for your loss" Steven says "Well, our loss. He was my family too, though I didn't know him for that long." I let out a sigh "I suppose this means I'd have to leave and be placed in the foster system. After my parents died, Andy became my legal guardian. Now that he's gone, I dunno." Uncle Greg then comes back into the room with the letter and will in hand "Serena, I need to talk to you. It's about this will." He seats himself across from me and looks at me. "Did Andy ever talk to you about legal guardianship if anything happens to him?" Uncle Greg asks " because this will is naming me as your legal guardianship." I smile a little. "Guess you don't have to enter the foster system after all" Steven says to me. "Yeah, I get to stay with family" I say wiping away a tear. Steven and Uncle Greg both hug me.
