I was listening to music from the backseat of our car when mom was driving. I took another look at google maps. Still an hour before we get to Ninjago city.
- Mom?
- Yes, honey? - She seemed surprised, like she wasn't expecting me to say a word.
- Do you really think this is a good idea? A whole new house, new school, new... life?
- Lloyd, that's what your father wanted.
- But he's... dead.
Mom sighed.
- I know he had been hard on you, sweetie. But trust your dad on this one. Ninjago is a city of your future.
- What about the whole 'green ninja' part?
- Uh... i see it's time to tell you...Decades ago, your grandparents had two sons. Your father, Garmadon and your uncle, Wu.
I looked at mom with my eyes wide open, as she continued...
- They both were great warriors. They used to fight with powers and abilities like spinjitzu.
- Spin- what?
- Spinjitzu. It's a fighting technique that you will learn and not many people are allowed to know. Now, you're the great green ninja, who will protect Ninjago's citizens. You're the grandchild of the very first spinjitzu master, honey. You're the chosen one.
- This is crazy. I'm zero of a warrior, ninja or whatever. I'm just a teenager who doesn't even play football. How am I supposed to protect someone if i can't even protect myself from falling apart? - I said worried.
- Uncle Wu will explain everything to you. But before you get ahead with all the ninja stuff, you need to go to school. Don't worry, Lloyd. After we settle down in our new home in Ninjago, everything will be fine.
