"Namjoonie, all ready?", jin asked as he sat inside the driver's seat of their new Rolls Royce. "Yes, baby, I'm ready", namjoon said, jiyoo in his lap, wiggling and squirming out of excitement.
"I'll get a brother, Dada! Papa!", jiyoo giggled uncontrollably at the thought. Seokjin had told her that they were going to get her a brother soon and she couldn't be any more excited about that.
Namjoon sat in the back seat before leaning forward to peck Jin's cheek. Jiyoo gave a light, silly laugh which caused the both of them to smile. "Yes, princess. I know you can't wait to meet him. Be patient, honey", seokjin said softly, his smile never leaving his face.
"Okay, Papa!", she shouted, lifting her fist in the air and wiggling a little. She couldn't hide her ardour. She was going to bring her brother home and that was the best thing ever.
"You ready, Jinnie?", namjoon asked, as if sensing his disquiet. "Yeah", jin said in a shaky, breathy voice. Namjoon took his hand in his before kissing the back of it and smiling softly. "It's okay, I already told you that I accept him, however he is. And I'm sure he's great", he said with his sweet, genuine voice and jin nodded, smiling back a bit hesitantly but it was still a smile. And that's all that mattered.
A few days ago
"Namjoon, I wanna talk to you", jin called out to his boyfriend. He was sitting on the couch, fidgeting nervously while namjoon made breakfast in the kitchen.
"Coming!", namjoon shouted back. Jin turned back to see him washing his hands and removing his apron, making his way back to the living room.
Jin shifted to give him space and namjoon sat down, looking completely calm. Well, he had no reason to feel uneasy.
"Umm... So, I told you that I have something to tell you", jin paused and looked at namjoon who just nodded for him to continue, "So, four years ago, I had this friend, who happened to be my roommate, too. We weren't really close but he helped me through some tough times. He had a baby with his girlfriend and they weren't married yet. But that wasn't a problem since they got married soon after".
Namjoon hummed in acknowledgement and jin knew he was indirectly asking him to stop beating around the bush and finally get to the point. And so he did just that.
"They left their kid with his parents while they went to their honeymoon.
B-but they got into an accident and were rushed to the hospital. They couldn't make it", jin huffed a breath, it was hard to share something like this. Namjoon looked at him, brows creased with worry as he rubbed his back. Jin held his hand in his and continued, "His parents were furious. They blamed the baby for bringing bad luck to their son and daughter-in-law, so they gave him up to the orphanage", he furiously wiped the tear that slipped from his eye."It's okay, I'm right here", namjoon said daintily. His voice was breathier than before and jin knew he was feeling sad, too. It was unfortunate, really. Children should never be blamed for anything. They're just innocent little souls.
"I don't know why but I thought it was my responsibility to go check on him. Then I started going to meet him regularly. Once in atleast three months. And it was miraculous to see how close we got in such a small time. After- after Eunjae, he was my everything and more. And just two years ago, he called me 'dad', joon", jin said with enthusiasm. It was one of the happiest days of his life.
"And I lost it. I was sure he didn't quite get it back then but I promised him that when I have enough money to be able to upbring the both of us, I'll adopt him. And- and he's waiting for me to come and bring him home", jin finished. He just wished namjoon will understand him, understand that he needed to do this now. He couldn't keep him waiting. Not anymore.
Jin look at namjoon expectantly. He looked like gears were turning in his head and he was trying to process everything. Jin hoped he would accept him.
"When are we bringing him home?", namjoon suddenly said. "Huh?", jin asked, a bit confused. Namjoon huffed and rolled his eyes. "You told me you promised to bring him home. So, when?", namjoon said as if it was obvious. Seokjin broke out into tears and latched himself onto namjoon. He sobbed as he hugged him tightly.
"Don't cry, baby. I'll accept him no matter what. If he's dear to you then he's dear to me too", namjoon smiled and kissed the top of seokjin's head. He could never say no to something like this. Jin, his sweet seokjin, accepted his daughter and saw her as his own kid and it would be unfair if namjoon couldn't do the same for him. And he was sure the boy would be amazing. His seokjin was an amazing dad and there was no doubt that his way of handling kids was awesome as well.
"Shh.. Baby, we're bringing him home. Let's go there on kook's birthday. I'm sure he'll be happy when I call him and tell him about this. Well, I don't know what Jimin's reaction will be since that boy love kids", jin laughed and nodded. "I love you", he looked into Namjoon's glossy eyes, his own eyes filling with tears again. They leaned forward and their lips collided, the smell of love diffusing into the atmosphere.
They kissed hungrily. Seokjin's hand moved inside Namjoon's shirt and he gripped his bare waist. Namjoon moaned into the kiss before parting for air. He breathed heavily before gripping Jin's collar.
"Let's take this to bed".
Present
"Okay, princess. Now I want you to behave and-","Just be yourself. Do whatever you want", jin said cutting namjoon off who pouted. Jiyoo giggled and collided her small fist with Jin's much larger one.
"Okay, Papa!", she smiled. Jin leaned down to kiss her forehead before they entered the orphanage.
Jiyoo held onto both of their hands, suddenly getting nervous. Jin squeezed her hand before looking at namjoon who smiled. Jin nodded and smiled back.
"Here goes nothing".
