"Okay, so first we'll have an exchange of rings from the best men", Jackson announced, breaking their little moment. Seokjin pouted but nodded nontheless.
Hoseok and Taehyung came forward, handing the rings to the respective grooms, who smiled delicately at them. The rings were nothing special, not even akin to the one seokjin had proposed namjoon with. Rather, they were just simple silver bands with their names engraved on the inside.
"I know no one wants to hear it but it's really sweet so I hope you'll listen. Wedding rings are a symbol of love and commitment. The rings are circular, like love, which has neither a beginning, nor an end. The rings are round like the sun, the moon, the eyes and the arms that embrace", Jackson started.
"They're proofs that the love you give to your better half, comes back around as light touches, sweet whispers and warm caresses. A ring, a circle, means eternity. Though words are often faded into hushed whispers, the symbol of your love on your finger reminds you of the promises you've made with someone. These rings remind that marriage isn't a destination, it's a journey. You go where life takes you, completely unplanned. May your rings remind you the promises and commitments you've made with each other and give you strength to move together in the journey of life", he finished.
Everyone applauded loudly with some sniffles heard and sobs supressed. Namjoon looked at seokjin as if hung the moon and the stars and seokjin couldn't help but smile, nudging namjoon's nose lightly with his index finger.
"Now, I'd like to ask the grooms to hold their rings. Namjoon, say your vows that you've prepared for Seokjin and slide the ring", Jackson instructed with a kind smile, odd for his generally goofy persona.
"Seokjin-ah, it's been what? Two years? Maybe a little less. I still remember the day when I first met you. Being as clumsy as I am, I had lost my glasses and frankly, I'd have to thank them for making us cross paths", namjoon chuckled slightly, feeling nostalgic over the whole thing.
The crowd also giggled, fond laughs blooming all around."You were so beautiful, you still are. The most handsome man I've ever seen. And I'm so glad I get to have you. I never thought I'd ever find a love so beautiful, so pure, so gentle, so genuine. You came into our life and like an absolute angel that you are, and turned mine and our daughter's little lonely lives into heaven. You're everything I had ever dreamt about. I-", namjoon sniffled. Seokjin sniffled too, a tear escaping from the corner of his eye but he was smiling widely.
"I don't know how to thank you. Honestly, I can never be more grateful that you're gonna be with me, right beside me, for the rest of my life, for the rest of yours. It's surreal. I never thought I could have someone like you, all for myself. I don't believe in god, neither do I believe in fate but if there's really a god up there, I'd not ask him anything but you, Jiyoo and Youngjae. You brought our little boy to our lives and filled my life with even more happiness. I can't promise you that we'll be happy no matter what. Sure, we'll have our ups and downs but I sure can promise that I'll be by your side forever. I promise to hold your hand through the toughest of times. I love you more than I'll ever love myself, Baby", namjoon finally took a shaky breath as he held seokjin's left hand in his.
"I, Kim Namjoon, take you, Kim Seokjin, to be my lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold from this day onwards, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, even death can't do us part", Namjoon said and in return, earned a few chuckles and few sniffles from the people.
As namjoon slid on the ring onto seokjin's unoccupied ring finger, the elder couldn't help but let his tears drip down his cheeks. The moment was too good to be true. "I love you", Seokjin whispered and Namjoon just gave his signature dimply smile, bringing his soon to be husband's knuckles and kissing them gingerly.
Jackson cleared his throat to gain the couple's attention, though he still was smiling fondly. "Now, Seokjin, it's time for you to say your vows and slide the ring", he said.
Seokjin nodded, taking deep breaths as he dug out a slightly crumpled paper from his pocket. He struggled to hold it in his shaky hands, voice wavering even before he had actually started.
"I...", Seokjin trailed off, not being able to say anything. The guests gave him worried glances and slow murmurs begin to fill the air. After seconds of struggling, Seokjin kept the paper back inside, deciding it wasn't as good of an idea.
He cleared his throat, looking straight into Namjoon's eyes and began speaking, "Namjoon-ah, I don't know where to start. But, thank you. Thank you so much for being in my life. Thank you so much for being the cause of my euphoria, my happiness. Thank you so much for being you. When we first met, you were so clumsy but so gorgeous, so perfect".
"If I'm being honest, even after our first date, I couldn't fully trust you", Seokjin's voice cracked and namjoon gave his hand a little squeeze. "But you made me realize that if there's anyone in this world whom I could trust, it's you. I love you so much that even thinking about a life without you scares me to no end. There's no one in this world I love more than you. You are the reason my heart beats and you've shown me that I have every reason to love myself. Thank you for being with me all this time and thank you for showing me the real me, the real Kim Seokjin. I want to know you, all your smiles and all your fears, even if it takes the rest of my life. I'll never stop loving you", seokjin breathed deeply and smiled, gleaming eyes looking brightly at namjoon's equally teary ones.
"I, Kim Seokjin, take you, Kim Namjoon, to be my lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold from this day onwards, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, even death can't do us part", Seokjin modified the vow the same way namjoon did and slid on the ring to namjoon's finger.
"That was great", Jackson sniffled before he realized why he was on the altar and sported a more serious expression.
"Okay, so now the thing you're most excited for. You may now-"
Before Jackson could continue, Namjoon moved forward and tightly wrapped his arms around his husband's back, securing them on the small of his back as he leaned in to seal seokjin's lips.
"-kiss your husband", Jackson finished awkwardly as the crowed laughed. But the newly weds were in their own world as they kissed gently. Their lips brushed, softly, delicately. Their faces so close to each other, breaths mingling, hearts colliding.
Tears of joy slid down Namjoon's cheeks, one particular drop resting on his dimple, making him more alluring than ever. Seokjin's state wasn't much different than his husband's though. He was crying and he was crying hard. Unlike normal, he didn't feel embarrassed, just pure happiness as the only sound he could hear was their heavy breaths and quick beating of their hearts. It was surreal as when their lips met, they blossomed like flowers in a beautiful autumn day. Love was in the air.
"I love you, Joon. Be mine, forever", Seokjin whispered. Namjoon gave a wet chuckle, smiling against seokjin's lips. "I'm yours, all yours. I love you, Jin", he whispered back.
And with foreheads touching, hearts beating in pace with each other, their lips connected again, promising them their forever.
